The core literacy of mathematics discipline is a hot topic in forefront research field of mathematics education,it points to students’ lifelong learning and development.Teaching and training students’ core literacy of mathematics emphasizes the process.Discovery teaching emphasizes on introducting students to rediscovery scientific knowledge in their class study process.It is an effective teaching method to implement the cultivation of the core literacy of mathematics.This research devotes to adapt to the future development of pupil,studies and uses the discovery teaching method to cultivate students’ mathematical core literacy by taking the trigonometric theorem of high school as an example and on the basis of investigation of the current situation of students’ mathematical core literacy level.The main work of this dissertation are as follows:(1)The level of mathematics core literacy of senior one students in a school is investigated and analyzed when they learn trigonometry theorem.Interviews were conducted with some front-line teachers to understand their views on core literacy of mathematics and discovery teaching method.(2)Four teaching cases about the content of "trigonometric theorem" are designed,tested and improved in the front line teaching in a middle school;(3)In conclusion,some teaching suggestions about cultivation of mathematics core literacy and teaching of trigonometry are puts forward.The conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)On the whole level,the reciprocal order of the level is mathematical modeling literacy,mathematical abstraction and intuitive imagination.(2)Through the contrast experiment of traditional teaching and discovery teaching,it is found that the adoption of discovery teaching can improve significantly the students’ mathematical abstract literacy,and also improve other literacy.(3)Teachers have a deep understanding of the mathematical core literacy,but they have not made too many teaching reforms in the process of implementing the mathematical core literacy.Some teachers still take "exam-oriented education" as their main goal.(4)If the teaching design is appropriate and the classroom teaching is controlled well,then the discovery teaching may not waste time,nor may it cause the dilemma that the teaching cannot be completed.(5)Discovery-based teaching is not necessarily suitable for the poor students.However,the students with poor mathematics foundation can also gain and make progress in discovery-based teaching.(6)The students with weak mathematical foundation tend to underestimate themselves and need teachers to encourage and help them actively.(7)The students lack the opportunity to communicate and express mathematics in daily teaching activities.This dissertation puts forward the following suggestions for the use of discovery teaching:(1)to attach importance to and design the teaching links of abstract thinking,and to cultivate mathematical abstract literacy;(2)to strengthen the geometric ability by "combination of numbers and shapes" teaching and to cultivate the intuitive imagination quality;(3)to cultivate logical reasoning literacy in the stroke of analyzing and solving problems;(4)to cultivate the core literacy of mathematical modeling in the process of practical application of mathematics;(5)Developing mathematical literacy is in the process of calculation and reasoning;(6)to take the problem situation as the starting point of teaching;(7)to pay attention to the unity of students’ "knowledge,emotion,intention and action";(8)to strengthen students’ communication activities.
