| With the acceleration of the urbanization process in China,the education of rural left-behind children has become a phased social issue during the social transformation period in China.They are one of the special groups that most need to be cared for and protected.Creating a healthy growth environment for them has become a common responsibility of the government,families,schools,and society.At present,the peer communication ability of rural senior left-behind pupils still needs to be improved.If peer relationships are not handled properly,it will seriously affect their learning and life,and thus affect their mental health.Drawing therapy is an effective art therapy method.Drawing around the topic of peer relationships can allow students to spontaneously express their thoughts and thoughts in a relaxed environment.Teachers can observe issues related to peer relationships,conduct targeted analysis and guidance,and improve their mental health through improving peer relationships.In this study,600 students in grades 5-6 from 5 rural primary schools in Guangnan County,Yunnan Province were investigated using the "Peer Relationship Scale" and the "Mental Health Diagnostic Test" with good reliability and validity.Based on the analysis of the survey data,the following conclusions were reached:(1)Characteristics of peer communication among rural senior left-behind pupils:Peer communication among rural senior left-behind pupils is at a medium level.There are significant differences in peer acceptance dimensions between different genders,and significant differences in interpersonal fear and inferiority complex dimensions;In terms of school types,there is a significant difference in the dimensions of communication fear and inferiority complex;There are significant differences in peer acceptance,fear of communication,and inferiority in whether or not a class leader is present;In terms of whether to have an only child or not,there are significant differences in peer acceptance dimensions,and significant differences in interpersonal fear and inferiority complex dimensions;In different family types,there are significant differences in peer acceptance,interpersonal fear,and self-esteem;In terms of academic performance,there are significant differences in peer acceptance,interpersonal fear,and self-esteem;In terms of father’s educational level,there are significant differences in peer acceptance,interpersonal fear,and inferiority complex;In terms of mother’s cultural level,there is a significant difference in the dimensions of communication fear and inferiority complex.(2)Characteristics of mental health of rural senior left-behind pupils: Most of the students’ mental health is at an "average" level,and there are individuals with relatively serious mental health conditions.In terms of gender,there are significant differences in the dimensions of learning anxiety,interpersonal anxiety,physical symptoms,and impulsive tendencies,while there are extremely significant differences in the total scores of phobic tendencies and mental health;There are significant differences in anxiety and phobic tendencies,allergic tendencies and impulsive tendencies,as well as extremely significant differences in total scores of loneliness,physical symptoms,and mental health in terms of whether or not one child is an only child;There are significant differences in loneliness,allergies,and total scores of mental health in whether they are class leaders or not,and there are extremely significant differences in the dimensions of learning anxiety;There are significant differences in the dimensions of loneliness tendency among different family types,including significant differences in learning anxiety,interpersonal anxiety,allergy tendency,and impulse tendency.There are extremely significant differences in the dimensions of loneliness tendency,physical symptoms,phobia tendency,and total mental health scores;There are significant differences in the dimensions of learning anxiety and physical symptoms in the educational level of fathers;There are significant differences in the dimensions of learning anxiety among mothers in terms of their educational level.(3)The relationship between peer communication ability and mental health of rural senior left behind primary school students:(1)There is a significant negative correlation between various indicators and total scores of mental health and peer acceptance dimension,that is,the better the peer relationship,the lower the various indicators and total scores of mental health,and the higher the level of mental health;There is a significant positive correlation between various indicators and total scores of mental health,as well as the dimension of communication fear and inferiority.The lower the level of communication fear and inferiority,the lower the scores and total scores of various indicators of mental health,and the higher the level of mental health.(2)According to the regression analysis of peer communication ability on mental health,it was found that both dimensions of peer acceptance and fear of communication,as well as inferiority,entered the regression equation,indicating that both dimensions of peer relationship can significantly predict the level of mental health.(4)The results of the intervention study showed that: the comparison results within the group showed that there was no significant difference between the pre test and post test in the control group,while the difference between the pre test and post test in the experimental group was significant;The comparison results between groups showed that the pre test results of the experimental group and the control group were not significantly different,while the post test results were significantly different.This indicates that painting therapy can effectively improve peer communication skills and further improve mental health.Finally,based on the findings of the research on the current situation of rural senior left-behind primary school students and the intervention research on peer relationships,corresponding educational countermeasures and suggestions are proposed. |
