Research On The Idealogical And Political Education Function Of Chinese University Student Honor System

As an important part of the ideological and political work of colleges and universities,the construction of student honor system and related commendation system is an effective measure to cultivate and optimize the school and academic style,and an important carrier to promote the core socialist values and cultivate newcomers of the times who are ambitious,virtuous,talented and responsible.Especially in the context of "Three-wide Education",it is of great practical significance to deeply explore and effectively play the ideological and political education function contained in the honor system of college students to further improve the quality of college ideological and political work and implement the fundamental task of establishing moral education.Chinese University student honor system is an organic whole that highly integrates all honor systems by praising and rewarding students’ excellent behavior during their school years through material and spiritual rewards based on meeting the national regulations for higher education.It has the distinctive qualities of reflecting the socialist core values,embodying the direction of socialist schooling of colleges and universities,and implementing the "Three-wide Education" and “Five side of Education”.In the process of fitting with the function of ideological and political education,the honor system of students plays the functions of emotional guidance,value guidance,character shaping,achievement motivation and example demonstration.The results of empirical investigation show that the construction of honor system and related commendation system of students in China’s colleges and universities have played a very positive and important role in establishing moral education,but there are still problems in the function of ideological and political education,such as the cultivation of honor concept is not deep,the publicity of honor is not in place,the leading role model is not obvious and the honor selection is not perfect.The main reasons for this are that the development of diversified social values affects students’ honor concepts,the school student honor system and related mechanisms are not perfect,students’ own honor concepts are not sound,and there are constraints in the honor system itself.In order to fully explore and effectively play the ideological and political education function of the honor system for college students,we should focus on strengthening and optimizing the following aspects: Improve the connotation,in line with the direction of socialist development of colleges and universities,and manifest the requirements of the times of the student honor system;Promote internalization,inspire students to pursue self-worth,and guide them to establish a correct concept of honor;Emphasis on recognition to enhance the ceremonial effect of the student honor system and to enhance the spiritual content of student honor;Strengthen propaganda,gather the communication power of different subjects,and give play to the exemplary role of the typical student honor;Constructing mechanism,improve the honor system of students,forming a synergistic effect of "Three-wide Educationn".
