| Psychological fatigue significantly impacts the athletic performance and learning ability of high-level athletes. This study aimed to explore the relevant factors and effective interventions for psychological fatigue among college athletes. The research consisted of two parts: the first part employed a meta-analysis to systematically evaluate the effects of mindfulness training and music therapy on alleviating psychological fatigue among athletes. The second part utilized a personalized intervention experimental design, incorporating mindfulness training, music therapy, and other measures, specifically tailored for basketball athletes from China University of Mining and Technology.Databases including CNKI(China National Knowledge Infrastructure),Wan Fang Data,VIP,Pub Med,Web of Science,Scopus, and Embase were searched for literature published between 1980 and 2022 in both Chinese and English languages. The included studies were subjected to quality assessment and meta-analysis.The results revealed that intervention measures targeting psychological fatigue had a significant alleviating effect on college athletes.Overall, the interventions significantly reduced athletes’ levels of psychological fatigue, with a pooled effect size of 1.52.Subgroup analyses demonstrated that both mindfulness training and music therapy interventions were effective in alleviating psychological fatigue among athletes, with music therapy showing a more significant effect. For the personalized intervention study,a total of 28 basketball athletes(all college students in training)from China University of Mining and Technology were selected as participants. The experimental group(14 individuals)received personalized interventions, including psychological counseling, goal setting, and relaxation techniques, while the control group(14 individuals)received only routine psychological counseling.Pre-and post-intervention assessments were conducted to evaluate the psychological fatigue, competitive arena anxiety,self-confidence,and life satisfaction of both groups. The results indicated that in terms of cognitive anxiety scores, the experimental group showed significantly lower scores after the intervention and at one-month follow-up compared to before the intervention(P<0.05).In terms of emotional anxiety, the experimental group exhibited a statistically significant difference before and after the intervention(P<0.05),whereas the control group showed no significant difference.Regarding self-confidence,both groups demonstrated a significant improvement in scores after the intervention(P<0.01,P<0.05).In terms of life satisfaction, the experimental group achieved significant improvements in scores for family, friends, education, and sports satisfaction(P<0.05,P<0.01),while the control group showed no significant changes. The differences in life satisfaction scores between the experimental and control groups were statistically significant after the intervention and at one-month follow-up(P<0.05,P<0.01).Based on athlete feedback and satisfaction evaluations, this study demonstrates that personalized interventions have significant effects in reducing psychological fatigue, lowering anxiety, and enhancing self-confidence.The findings provide valuable insights for the prevention and intervention of psychological fatigue among athletes, contributing to the promotion of athletes’ mental health and competitive performance. |
