Prosocial behavior is an altruistic behavior shown by individuals that is beneficial to the harmonious development of social relations.It is an important manifestation of individual social adaptation and an important part of school moral education.Cultivating children’s prosocial awareness and motivation,and improving the level of prosocial behavior are effective ways to help children maintain stable interpersonal relationships and a healthy psychological state.Studies have shown that harmonious sibling relationships play a pivotal role in the development of children’s prosocial behavior,but the current domestic research on the mechanism of how sibling affect prosocial behavior needs to be strengthened.According to Developmental Contextualism,individual development is the result of the interaction between internal factors and external environment.Therefore,this study combines social learning theory and family ecosystem theory to construct a chain-mediated mediation model to test the mechanism of emotion regulation and peer relationship between sibling relationship and prosocial behavior.This study conducted a questionnaire survey among 792 children from second-child families in Grade five and six of Primary School in Ruzhou and Kaifeng city,and the results are as follows:(1)There were significant differences in sibling relationship among children of senior primary school in family location,sibling age difference and sibling sex combination;There were significant differences in emotional regulation in family location,birth order and sibling gender combination,but no significant differences in gender and sibling age difference.There were significant differences in birth order and family location,but no significant differences in gender,age difference and sibling sex combination.Prosocial behavior had significant difference in family location and gender.(2)Sibling relationships significantly positively predicted cognitive reappraisal,peer relationship,and prosocial behavior.Cognitive reappraisal and peer relationships positively predicted prosocial behavior,cognitive reappraisal significantly positively predicted peer relationships,and expression inhibition negatively predicted peer relationships.(3)Cognitive reappraisal and peer relationships played a partial mediator respectively between sibling relationships and prosocial behavior.Cognitive reappraisal and peer relationships acted as chains between sibling relationships and prosocial behavior.Based on the relevant research results and the actual situation,this study puts forward the following suggestions:(1)Parents should strengthen parent-child communication,pay attention to the interaction between compatriots,timely deal with the conflicts between compatriots,especially the relationship between the eldest brother and the girl in the family,and the interaction between compatriots with the age difference within the age of three.(2)Parents should pay attention to their children’s emotional education,communicate with them more,and guide their children to carry out positive cognitive reappraisal when facing emotional events.Schools can also help improve children’s emotional well-being through mental health programs.(3)Both families and schools should focus on creating a good social environment,encouraging children to socialize in various ways,improving social skills,and helping children maintain good peer relationships.
