Anxiety is one of the common emotional experiences of preschool children.Although it is very common, once it occurs too frequently or too strongly,it will become an abnormal or pathological psychological disorder and seriously endanger children’s physical and mental health.Previous studies have shown that parenting pressure and harsh discipline are important factors leading to children’s anxiety. However, the existing research on the relationship between parenting stress, parental harsh discipline and preschool children’s anxiety is relatively lacking. Therefore, based on the investigation of the basic characteristics of parenting stress, parental harsh discipline and preschool children’s anxiety, this study further discusses the relationship between the three with parental harsh discipline as the intermediary.Following the principle of stratified sampling, this study selects 650 preschool children in Henan Province as the research object, and uses the questionnaire method to test both parents of preschool children. Finally, the main conclusions of this study are as follows:1.The parenting pressure of preschool children is generally at the lower middle level, and the parenting stress has significant differences in parents’ gender, children’s gender, children’s class, urban and rural areas and per capita monthly income of the family.2.In the last year,93.2% and 69.8% of parents have adopted psychological aggression and corporal punishment on preschool children, and the average frequency of psychological aggression and corporal punishment is 12.97 and 4.26 respectively. The prevalence of harsh discipline has significant differences in parents’ gender, urban and rural areas and per capita monthly income of family; The frequency of harsh discipline has significant differences in parents’ gender, children’s gender and class, urban and rural areas and per capita monthly income of family.3.Preschool children’s anxiety is generally in the lower middle level, and there are significant differences in children’s gender, children’s class and urban and rural areas.4.Parenting stress is positively correlated with preschool children’s anxiety and harsh discipline;Harsh discipline is positively correlated with preschool children’s anxiety.Parenting stress can predict preschool children’s anxiety and strict discipline to varying degrees;Harsh discipline has a significant predictive effect on preschool children’s anxiety.5.Father’s psychological aggression, corporal punishment and overall harsh discipline all play a partial mediating effect in the influence of parenting stress on preschool children’s anxiety;Mother’s psychological aggression and overall harsh discipline play a partial mediating effect in the influence of parenting stress on preschool children’s anxiety, and mother’s corporal punishment has no mediating effect.According to the research conclusion, the following educational suggestions are put forward:(一)Reduce the level of parenting stress,so as to reduce the anxiety of preschool children.(二)Stop the behavior of harsh discipline and avoid the anxiety of preschool children.(三)Improve parental discipline by alleviating parenting stress,so as to prevent the anxiety of preschool children.
