The planting garden is an indispensable part of the kindergarten environment,having a strong exploratory,practical,and operational nature.However,there are still many problems in the implementation process of planting activities.Outdoor planting activities under the concept of "total harvest" are no longer planting in the traditional sense,but activities with warm and emotion,which can bring diversified activities and integrated experiences to children and promote the professional learning growth of teachers,parents and other subjects.In order to solve the problems existing in the current outdoor planting activities in kindergartens and give full play to the unique value of outdoor planting activities,this study adopts the paradigm of action research and carries out the exploration and attempt of outdoor planting activities under the guidance of the concept of "total harvest".In the preliminary preparation stage of action research,questionnaire survey,interview,and observation methods were comprehensively used to investigate the current situation of outdoor planting activities in S kindergarten from the perspectives of children,teachers,and parents.This stage can sort out the existing problems in outdoor planting activities: children’s low planting ability,short participation time,and low investment;teacher’s low cultivation literacy,insufficient understanding of goals,and lacking of practical skills;parent’s value cognitive deviation and low participation in planting activities.Based on the problems above,the researcher designes and conceptualizes the action plan,working with the cooperating teachers.In the implementation phase of the research,the concept of "total harvest" was used as a support to carry out two rounds of comprehensive and systematic outdoor research in the spiral process of "planning-action-observation-reflection-replanning",focusing on planning,planting,management,harvesting,and extension.In each round of action,we focused on children’s experience acquisition and development,analyzed the rationality of the design of outdoor planting activities and teachers’ educational strategies,and continuously adjusted the action plan through observation and reflection in order to provide the references for the design and implementation of outdoor planting activities in kindergartens.In the later summary stage of action research,the effectiveness of planting activities under the concept of "total harvest" was analyzed.At the level of children,plant science knowledge was continuously enriched,planting ability is continuously improved,problem awareness and experimental exploration ability were continuously developed,pro-nature emotion was continuously deepened,and dietary preference was improved;at the level of teachers,planting literacy had been developed,the ability to organize and implement planting activities had been continuously improved,the awareness of resource integration and utilization had been developed,and the awareness of learning and reflection had been strengthened.At the parents’ level: planting values were improved,participation was increased,and awareness of daily nature education was enhanced.Finally,the dissertation put forward suggestions for outdoor planting activities from three aspects: teachers,parents,and kindergartens. |
