In recent years,the world is gradually forming a close community of interest and bringing unprecedented challenges due to the leap forward in information science,which has accelerated the arrival of Industry 4.0 and the process of globalization.The current teaching model is no longer able to meet the needs of 21 st century talents,therefore,educational reforms are actively carried out all over the world in an effort to produce highly qualified and innovative talents who can adapt to today’s and tomorrow’s society and economy.Innovative thinking is an effective process and method that meets the needs of the world today for future talents,and the ability to innovate benefits from innovative thinking.Since the introduction of quality education in China,there have been many references to innovative consciousness,creativity and creative thinking.The question of how to cultivate students’ creative thinking in the art curriculum today in order to respond to the development of the times is worthy of deep consideration.The art discipline has a unique value in enhancing students’ innovative consciousness and cultivating creativity.Art and design is a unique subject that combines the knowledge of society,nature and other disciplines to cultivate students’ innovative spirit,creativity,problem-solving skills,artistic cultivation and moral cultivation,and to equip students with innovative thinking.The study concluded that focusing on the middle school art and design curriculum area and integrating the process and method of thinking about questioning in the unit curriculum can improve students’ creativity and problem-solving skills,which in turn can enhance their creative thinking.Junior high school is a golden stage for the development and formation of thinking,and students at this stage can make assumptions to deduce and subjectively classify things,which meets the prerequisites for the cultivation of innovative thinking;the perceptual ability and imagination of junior high school students are in the process of continuous development and gradual improvement,and after the accumulation of elementary school stage,they have certain ability to judge the truth,goodness and beauty,which provides favorable conditions for the cultivation of innovative thinking.Therefore,it is of great significance and value to cultivate students’ innovative thinking in the field of design curriculum learning at the junior high school level.
