With the deepening of the "Compulsory Education Mathematics Curriculum Standards(2022Edition)",life oriented teaching plays a crucial role in cultivating students’ core mathematical literacy and improving teaching quality.The life oriented teaching of primary school mathematics breaks free from the constraints of traditional teaching concepts and methods,and closely connects mathematical knowledge with real life.It emphasizes that teachers should actively seek mathematical materials from students’ real life,guide students to understand and grasp mathematical knowledge based on existing intuitive life experiences,and encourage students to connect mathematical knowledge with real life.To a certain extent,it can promote the development of students’ core mathematical literacy.This study first reviewed the current research status at home and abroad through extensive reading of journals,thesis,and monographs related to the topic,and gained a basic understanding of the current situation of life oriented teaching in primary school mathematics.Taking Dewey’s pragmatism teaching theory,Tao Xingzhi’s life education theory,and Friedenthal’s mathematical education thought as the theoretical cornerstone,this thesis conducts a research on the current situation of mathematics life teaching in the second stage of K Primary School in D city through questionnaires,interviews and classroom observation.Among them,the questionnaire survey method uses the Likert scale to investigate and study some students in the third,fourth and fifth grades.According to the Compulsory Education Mathematics Curriculum Standards(2022 Edition),the scale items are divided into three dimensions: first,students’ awareness of the goals of life oriented teaching and learning status;The second is the feedback from students on the implementation of life oriented teaching by teachers;The third is the application situation where students combine mathematical knowledge with solving real-life problems.The interview method starts from four dimensions: teachers’ cognition and understanding of life oriented teaching,implementation and feedback,cultivation and application,and difficulties and suggestions,in order to deeply understand the research status of life oriented teaching in mathematics in the second stage of primary school.The classroom observation method is based on the classroom observation record form,which mainly includes four dimensions: introduction stage,new teaching stage,consolidation and application stage,and homework assignment stage.During the listening process,timely organize and analyze the current situation of teachers’ implementation of life oriented teaching in mathematics classrooms through classroom observation records.Through the analysis of the survey results,it is summarized that the problems of birth activation teaching in primary school mathematics classrooms are mainly reflected in three aspects: firstly,teachers need to strengthen their adherence to the concept of life oriented teaching;Secondly,the level of teachers’ life oriented teaching needs to be improved;Thirdly,the ability of teachers to implement life oriented teaching needs to be strengthened.In response to the three problems mentioned above,the causes of these problems are analyzed from the perspectives of society,school,family,and teachers themselves.Effective strategies and suggestions are proposed to improve the life oriented teaching of mathematics in the second stage of primary school.Firstly,the ideological foundation is consolidated and the concept of life oriented teaching of mathematics is strengthened;Secondly,optimize classroom teaching and improve the quality of mathematics life oriented teaching;Thirdly,focus on personal development and master the ability to teach mathematics in a practical way.This study attempts to provide some suggestions and references for further improving the practice of life oriented primary school mathematics teaching and cultivating primary school students’ core mathematical literacy.
