With the advent of the information age,the rapidly updated knowledge and the increasingly fierce competition in the market demand more and more talents.Therefore,the current "Compulsory Education Biology Curriculum Standards 2022" in the biological core literacy on special emphasis on the cultivation of high-level thinking of students.Obviously,raises student’s high-level thinking ability to become our country present education reform the development tendency and the research hot spot.Social science issues(SSI)is a dilemma arising from the development of science and technology.The author finds that the introduction of social science issues into the classroom can lead students to analyze and deal with problems in real problem situations and finally make decisions,which can improve students’ high-level thinking ability.However,through consulting the relevant literature,it is found that the application of SSI in biology teaching is less.Therefore,the purpose of this study is to explore the effectiveness of using SSI teaching method to cultivate students’ high-order thinking in biology teaching in junior high school.According to the characteristics of SSI teaching and junior middle school students’ learning,this thesis onstructs the teaching mode and strategy of cultivating students’ high-level thinking based on SSI teaching.This thesis is divided into four stages: The first stage is the theoretical analysis,the main use of literature analysis of high-level thinking and SSI teaching literature at home and abroad.The second stage is the analysis of the status quo,using questionnaires and tests on the two classes in the pre-test to determine homogeneous classes.The third stage is teaching design,which constructs teaching design idea and teaching flow chart based on SSI to train students’ advanced thinking.The fourth stage is teaching experiment.After a semester’s teaching practice,the teaching effect is examined by various evaluation methods.The results showed that:(1)In the experimental class teaching by SSI teaching model,the students’ analytical ability,evaluation ability and creativity were improved,and with the improvement of thinking level,the improvement gradually decreased.(2)In the control class adopting the traditional teaching method,after comparative analysis before and after,it is found that there is almost no change in students’ high-level thinking.Finally,based on the above research,the following teaching suggestions are put forward:(1)to enhance theoretical literacy and change teaching concepts;(2)to accumulate materials and improve classroom teaching content;and(3)to build a high-level environment and stimulate active thinking.
