The growing ecological problems have more and more restricted the development of human society and brought great challenges to people’s production and life.General Secretary Xi Jinping clearly pointed out in the report of the 20 th CPC National Congress that Chinese modernization is a modernization in which people and nature live in harmony, and we must firmly establish and practice the concept that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets, and plan development at the height of harmonious coexistence between man and nature. This is the Party’s ecological response to the changes in the main social contradictions of the new era, reflecting the great importance that the Party and the State attach to the issue of ecological civilization construction. In order to implement the spirit of the 20 th CPC National Congress and enhance the awareness of ecological civilization in society as a whole, primary and secondary schools must follow the new requirements of the development of the new era and strengthen the cultivation of ecological civilization views among primary and secondary school students.Internationally, schools around the world have developed unique educational models in terms of methods and approaches to environmental education, which have certain reference values for improving the legal guarantee, teaching methods, and teacher training for the cultivation of ecological civilization views among primary and secondary school students in China. This study adheres to the basic Marxist position, analyzes dialectically the practical experience of foreign school rituals from the perspective of the ideological and political education discipline, grasps their inner laws, and adheres to the principle of using them for our own benefit,so as to realize the local transformation of their beneficial experiences.Based on the above research ideas, this paper is divided into four chapters, which are summarized as follows. The first chapter mainly sorts out and summarizes the basic prerequisite issues of cultivating ecological civilization view among primary and secondary school students. The first is to clarify the connotation of ecological civilization concept, new era ecological civilization concept and new era ecological civilization concept cultivation in this study, and to clarify the research boundary;the second is to explore what is "new" in the cultivation of ecological civilization concept for primary and secondary school students in the new era, specifically including the new requirements and new contents of ecological civilization concept cultivation;the third is to explore the theoretical basis of ecological civilization concept cultivation for primary and secondary school students in China, and to sort out its ideological sources. The third is to explore the theoretical basis of cultivating ecological civilization among primary and secondary school students,to sort out its ideological sources and methodological basis, and to lay the research foundation for subsequent analysis. The second chapter is a study on the main contents of cultivating ecological civilization among primary and secondary school students.China’s cultivation of ecological civilization is mostly based on a multidisciplinary education model, which permeates ecological civilization concepts into subjects such as politics, language, chemistry, and biology. At the same time, local education departments and schools prepare curriculum standards and school-based teaching materials that meet local realities.Based on the textual analysis of this series of teaching materials, the educational contents are summarized into five areas: "ecological view of nature, green development, ecological view of people’s livelihood, ecological view of the rule of law,and global governance".The third chapter focuses on four important practical approaches in cultivating ecological civilization among primary and secondary school students, and explores the inner rules of cultivating ecological civilization among primary and secondary school students. At the school level, the leading role of schools in the cultivation of ecological civilization is analyzed in three aspects: adopting an infiltration teaching model, conducting thematic activities, and planning the layout of the environment;at the level of social participation, the activities carried out by three different actors: mass media, community residents, and environmental organizations, are used to create a favorable environment for the cultivation of ecological civilization. At the level of social participation, the activities carried out by the mass media, community residents, and environmental organizations are used to create a favorable educational atmosphere;at the family level, parents implicitly cultivate students’ ecological civilization concepts through good role models, setting rules for rewards and punishments, and leading their children to get close to nature. The fourth chapter is a realistic review of the cultivation of ecological civilization concept among primary and secondary school students in China. It analyzes in depth the current challenges to the cultivation of ecological civilization in China in terms of the construction of laws and regulations, teaching methods and teachers’ strengths. While summarizing the strengths and challenges of China,we look at the practical paths of environmental education in foreign countries and examine the applicability of their successful experiences to China’s specific conditions. In this way,we can critically draw on and practically reflect on the direction of socialist schooling and the position of the discipline of ideological and political education, and propose a Chinese solution for the cultivation of ecological civilization among primary and secondary school students.
