At present,China’s education has entered a new period of development.China’s Education Modernization 2035 issued by the CPC Central Committee and The State Council clearly points out from the height of long-term strategic planning that,on the basis of achieving basic equilibrium in compulsory education,high-quality equilibrium should be further promoted so as to form a fairer and higher quality education system.Standing at the new historical starting point,the improvement of the overall development level and quality of education should put the construction of teachers in a prominent position.On the one hand,physical education teacher exchanges shoulder the historical responsibility of promoting the balanced development of education,on the other hand,bearing the responsibility of the era of the professional construction of physical education teachers,is one of the focus of social attention at present,in urgent need of theoretical and practical research and expansion.This research defines the relevant concepts,determines theoretical basis,and forms research ideas and overall framework based on sorting out relevant literature,policies,laws,and regulations related to teacher communication and professional development of physical education teachers.Combining the literature research method,expert interview method,and Delphi method to determine the evaluation indicators for professional development of physical education teachers,a questionnaire was prepared and other research tools were used to select Z Province,which has a high degree of urban-rural integration in the eastern coastal region.Among them,physical education teachers who have participated in teacher communication in cities H,N,W,and J with good implementation of teacher communication policies,conducted a questionnaire survey,and 637 valid questionnaires were ultimately collected.Besides,some of the teaching and research staff and physical education teachers were interviewed in depth.Through quantitative analysis of data and qualitative analysis of interview materials,the basic situation of physical education teachers’ participation in teacher communication in the survey area was finally understood,and the impact of teacher communication on different dimensions of physical education teachers ’ professional development was analyzed.The impact mechanism of teacher communication on physical education teachers’ professional development was preliminarily explored.Through investigation and research,the following research conclusions are drawn:(1)The surveyed areas have rich and diverse forms of teacher communication,good policy implementation,and physical education teachers with evaluation and their own development needs are more motivated to participate in teacher communication,and their exchange needs are difficult to meet.Different forms of teacher communication vary in terms of staffing affiliation,length of resudency,communication content,and types of communication schools.(2)The participation of physical education teachers in teacher exchanges has a positive promoting effect on their professional development.The order of improvement of the four first-level indicators for the evaluation indicators of physical education teachers’ professional development are as follows: teacher education research and professional development >promoting students’ learning and development > improving personality and professional ethics > physical education and teaching professional knowledge.(3)Physical education teachers have significant differences in their professional development when participating in teacher exchanges among the education committee,outgoing schools,and inflowing schools,showing the greatest increase in the inflowing schools.(4)Physical education teachers’ active participation in teacher communication and passive participation in teacher communication have significant differences in their professional development,which showed the greatest improvement in their professional development when physical education teachers actively applied to participate in teacher ecommunication..(5)Physical education teachers’ self-improvement awareness,changes in time costs,and changes in the teaching environment during participating in teacher communication are effective mechanisms for promoting their professional development.Based on the above conclusions,the following five suggestions are proposed: improve communication policies to meet the multiple needs of teacher communication;explore regional characteristics and stimulating the implicit role of teacher communication;skillfully use objective conditions to enhance the internal sense of belonging of communication teachers;improve the evaluation mechanism and pay attention to the entire process of teacher communication;Popularize the connotation of communication and stimulate the inner drive of PE teachers.
