Since the twentieth century, the novel has become a dominant genre in literature. As a literary work that explores the existence of man,the importance of fiction is selfevident. The "Standard for Chinese Curriculum for General High Schools" published in 2017 emphasizes the development of students’ core language literacy and pays attention to the cultivation of students’ thinking quality and ability.Novels are not only an important part of high school Chinese reading teaching, but also account for an increasing proportion in the new college entrance examination. Therefore, how to better play the effectiveness of novel reading teaching and how to improve students’ reading ability and literacy more effectively is one of the problems that need to be overcome urgently in Chinese reading teaching. At present, the research path of Chinese reading teaching has shifted from the study of teaching methods and strategies to the exploration of teaching content.Professor Rongsheng Wang also put forward the idea that "what is taught is more important than how to teach".In order to better explore the effective path of novel reading teaching, this paper combines it with the teaching of novel group reading under the perspective of Western "intertextuality theory",in order to improve the way teachers teach novel reading, improve teachers’ ability to interpret texts, and improve students’ reading ability and reading literacy. The main content of this article is divided into the following parts:The introductory part discusses the reasons and significance of the research on group reading teaching in high school novels from the perspective of intertextuality theory, briefly sorts out the research status of intertextuality theory and group reading at home and abroad, and reviews the literature related to group reading teaching from the perspective of intertextuality theory. The first part mainly summarizes the concepts of intertextuality theory and group reading teaching, distinguishes group reading teaching from other reading teaching concepts, and then analyzes the significance and feasibility of intertextuality theory applied to group reading teaching in high school novels from the perspective of theory and reality. The second part mainly investigates and analyzes the current situation of high school novel reading teaching.Through the questionnaire survey,we will understand the current status of high school novel reading teaching,as well as the main teaching methods of high school novels, and analyze the data obtained from the survey to find out the problems and reasons in the current high school novel reading teaching. The third part of the content first carefully sorts out and analyzes the classic teaching examples of famous teachers. Then, based on the combing and analysis of classic teaching examples of famous teachers, some enlightenment was obtained, and I thought about how to better select and use intertexts in novel reading teaching. The fourth part mainly focuses on the problems and reasons summarized above, combines the characteristics of intertextuality theory and novel group reading teaching, and the inspiration and thinking obtained from analyzing the classic teaching examples of famous teachers, and puts forward three application strategies: first, based on the text, multiple perspectives, determine the core issues, trace the origin, and find the link points in the text;Second, there is a method of selecting texts, carefully organizing texts around core topics, and organizing group texts by combining similar texts, aggregating complementary texts, and selecting contradictory texts; The third is collective construction, layer by layer,to improve students’ reading literacy through the mobilization of the whole context. The fifth part mainly applies the theory of intertextuality to specific teaching practice, takes fictional techniques and "alienation" archetypes as the link points, and takes "the absurdity of the plot and the truth of art" as the theme, designs the group reading teaching of "Promoting Weaving" and "Metamorphosis",and carries out teaching according to the teaching design, and then reflects on the actual situation of teaching. Finally, some issues that need to be paid attention to in the application of intertextuality theory in the teaching of novel group reading are summarized.
