Information science and technology curriculum is an important course in the junior high school in the stage of compulsory education,which plays an important role in improving students’ Core competence of information science and technology discipline and promoting their comprehensive development.Information science and technology teachers in junior high school are the foundation and guarantee for this role to play,so promoting the professional development of information science and technology junior high school is of great significance.However,the current situation of professional development of information science and technology teachers in junior high schools in China is not optimistic.Therefore,based on the "Professional Standards for Middle School Teachers(Trial)",this study explores the connotation of professional development of information science and technology teachers in junior high school,and takes Nanchang City as an example to investigate and research the current situation of professional development of information science and technology teachers in junior high school in Nanchang City.It analyzes the problems and causes of professional development of information science and technology teachers in junior high school in Nanchang City,and on this basis,puts forward countermeasures and suggestions for improving the professional development of information science and technology teachers in junior high school,to improving the professional quality and ability of information science and technology teachers in junior high school,improving the education quality of information science and technology course in junior high school,and promoting the comprehensive development of students.In order to understand the current situation of the professional development of junior high school information science and technology teachers in Nanchang,this paper designed a questionnaire in combination with the three dimensions and the fourteen major fields of the "Professional Standards for Middle School Teachers(Trial)",and conducted a questionnaire survey on the basic situation,the current situation of professional development,the status of teachers’ self-studying,training and scientific researching,and the factors affecting the professional development of junior high school information science and technology teachers in Nanchang,Jiangxi Province.A total of 98 valid questionnaires were collected.Subsequently,in-depth interviews were conducted with 5 information science and technology teachers of different gender,education background and professional title in Nanchang.According to the data of questionnaires and interviews,there are the following problems in the professional development of junior high school information science and technology teachers in Nanchang: First,information science and technology teachers have a weak sense of professional identity and lack of the professional confidence;Second,there is a lack of the professional knowledge for information science and technology teachers;Third,there is a lack of the professional ability for information science and technology teachers.The reason lies in the marginalization of the subject of information science and technology,the lack of internal drive for teachers’ professional development,unreasonable structure of teachers,shortcomings in teacher training,the limitations of relevant systems and environmental constraints.In view of the existing problems and influencing factors,the following countermeasures are proposed: First,transform discipline values,teachers should establish correct discipline values,regain professional confidence,and improve the internal drive of their own professional development.Schools and society should abandon the traditional concept of information technology discipline,and pay attention to the professional development of information science and technology teachers;Second,improve relevant systems,such as professional title evaluation and employment system,teacher professional development system,teacher recruitment system and training system;Third,optimize the soft and hard environment of the school,create an atmosphere that can promote the development of information science and technology teachers,and provide a platform for the professional development of information science and technology teachers.
