Middle school students are a special group,as they are in an important stage of life and are facing the period of physical and psychological development.During this period,their cognitive abilities begin to become independent,their minds gradually form,and their thoughts may become rebellious.Negative influences from society,school,and family can all lead to psychological burdens for them.Without proper psychological guidance and counseling,students may develop unhealthy mental states,and even go down the wrong path.Therefore,we need to pay close attention to the mental health of middle school students and provide them with timely and correct guidance and help.Music therapy is a new and emerging interdisciplinary field with development potential,which includes various different therapeutic methods and schools.It mainly uses specially designed musical behaviors,guided by a music therapist,to help the patient achieve psychological healing through musical experiences,in order to relax their mood,eliminate psychological barriers,and restore physical and mental health.Integrating music therapy into music classroom teaching allows music teachers to fulfill their teaching responsibilities while also fulfilling the role of a music therapist,fully leveraging the role of music education.Our aim is to propose that students can develop their psychological health while learning music knowledge and skills,enhancing their psychological endurance and resilience,laying a good psychological foundation for their better development and adaptation to society.At the same time,we advocate for a cross-disciplinary and integrated music education teaching concept,which meets the requirements of the new curriculum and has certain enlightening significance and practical value for promoting the development of music education.This article aims to explore the application of receptive music therapy in the psychological health of middle school students.In the introduction,through the introduction of the concept definition,research background,research significance,research status,and research ideas and methods of receptive music therapy,the research focus and significance of this article are clarified.Then,in the first chapter,the definition,function,form and hierarchy theory,method,and principle of music therapy are detailed.In the second chapter,through the investigation and analysis of the psychological health status of middle school students,the overall situation,gender differences,and main problems of middle school students’ psychological health are revealed.In the third chapter,the teaching practice of receptive music therapy in middle school music classrooms is elaborated,including the practice concept,design and implementation,and classroom effects.Finally,in the fourth chapter,conclusions and countermeasures are proposed,emphasizing the importance and application prospects of receptive music therapy in the psychological health of middle school students.The research results of this article show that receptive music therapy has good educational value and practicality when applied in middle school music classrooms,and is worthy of further exploration and application in teaching practice.
