Study On The Realization Path Of University Students’ Participation In University Governance

In the context of the state vigorously promoting the modernization of higher education governance system and governance capacity,university students,as the most basic element of university existence and development,are an important force participating in university governance activities.It has become a wide consensus in the society to protect the basic rights of students and safeguard their power,meanwhile,promoting the participation of college students in university governance is the way to build a modern university system with Chinese characteristics,and the right of college students to participate in governance should be implemented effectively.This study mainly adopts the questionnaire method and in-depth interview method,applies the stakeholder theory and governance theory,theoretically discusses the connotation of college students’ participation in university governance,and conducts a comprehensive survey and analysis on the current situation of college students’ participation in university governance,based on which the existing problems and the deep-seated reasons behind them are deeply analyzed,and finally explores the feasible path to optimize college students’ participation in university governance.The survey shows that the following problems exist in the current university governance: the lack of self-awareness of university governance,the limited content of university governance,the need to optimize the governance path,the ambiguity of governance power,and the lack of governance subjectivity.The main reasons for the above problems are: students’ weak recognition of value and low enthusiasm to participate in governance;the difficulty of adapting governance concept to the development demands of universities;the difficulty of introducing system to play governance function;the difficulty of operating mechanism to play governance effectiveness;the difficulty of students’ role to achieve governance effect.In response to the above analysis,this paper combines the current situation of Chinese universities,and on the basis of the analysis of the current dilemma,seeks to put forward countermeasure suggestions for improving the effectiveness of university students’ participation in university governance in four aspects: changing the concept of governance,improving institutional guarantee,perfecting mechanism guidance,and cultivating governance culture,in order to provide reference for the practice of university students’ participation in university governance.
