Parents’ attitude towards educational punishment plays an important role in teachers’ rational exercise of the power of educational punishment and dealing with the relationship between home and school.Parents’ support to education punishment has a great influence on teachers’ educational punishment.Through a questionnaire survey of632 parents of primary school students in Chongqing, parents’ attitudes towards the implementation of different degrees of educational punishment by primary school teachers were learned. With the help of Amos and SPSS,this paper analyzes the reliability and validity of the questionnaire, descriptive statistics, difference test, correlation test and regression analysis. The results are as follows:1.At present, parents of primary school students hold a relatively favorable attitude towards teacher education punishment as a whole, but still worry about the heavier punishment.2.The attitudes of parents of primary school students towards teachers’ educational punishments are characterized by "contradiction","specialization" and "anti-deprivation".3.There is no significant difference between parents’ attitudes towards teachers’ educational punishments and their children’s gender.4.There are significant differences in parents’ attitudes towards teachers’ educational punishments in hukou,gender,parent-child relationship, children’s educational punishment experience, knowledge of educational punishment policies, age, educational background, number of children, grade of children, marital status, parental status and educational expectations. The overall support level of agricultural household registered parents was higher than that of non-farm household registration parents.Female parents’ collaborative participation in educational punishment is significantly higher than that of male parents.Parents with harmonious parent-child relationship support educational punishment significantly more than those with disharmonious parent-child relationship.Parents who know the relevant policies of educational punishment and their children have received educational punishment have a significantly higher degree of support for educational punishment than parents who do not know the policies and their children have not received educational punishment.Parents above 30 years of age support educational punishment significantly higher than parents below 30 years of age;Parents who have college education or above are more likely to support their children than those who have secondary education.Parents with two or more children support educational punishment significantly more than parents with only one child; The degree of support of married parents for all dimensions of educational punishment is higher than that of divorced parents and remarried parents. The parents of high grade students have the highest degree of support for educational punishment, followed by the parents of low grade students, and the parents of middle grade students have the lowest degree of support.Parents with education expectation of bachelor degree or above support educational punishment significantly higher than those with education expectation of junior college or below.Parents were significantly more supportive of educational discipline than grandparents and other relatives.5.Through the regression analysis of educational disciplinary attitudes, the results show that children’s grades, hukou nature, number of children, marital status, children’s educational discipline, and understanding of educational disciplinary policies can significantly predict parents’ attitudes towards educational discipline.Among them, the grade level and number of children have a positive predictive effect on parents’ attitude towards educational discipline, and the nature of household registration, marital status, children’s educational discipline, and parents’ understanding of educational disciplinary policies have a negative predictive effect on parents’ attitude towards educational discipline.Parents’ attitude towards educational punishment should become an important issue to focus on when implementing educational punishment rules at school. In the end, based on the research process and conclusion,we try our best to respect parents’ attitude, meet parents’ needs, attach importance to school’s main role, play school’s guidance function and so on.In addition,it pointed out that there was not enough research done in this paper, and provided some references for further research.
