strengthened the connection between different educational stages.Based on the cognitive,emotional,and social development of students from primary to junior high school,the curriculum is arranged to reflect the continuity and progression of learning objectives.Therefore,the issue of linking primary school science curriculum with junior high school biology curriculum is an important concern for educators,and researching the teaching connection between the two holds significant value.This paper is supported by theories such as systems theory,zone of proximal development theory,constructivism theory,and learning progression theory.It comprehensively utilizes literature research,case analysis,and questionnaire surveys to investigate the overall situation of research on teaching connections between primary and secondary schools.It aims to understand the latest developments and educational concepts related to such research and define relevant concepts.The paper explains the theoretical foundations and demonstrates the necessity of this research topic from a theoretical perspective.The paper provides a detailed analysis of the corresponding characteristics of the primary school science curriculum standards and the junior high school biology curriculum standards.It specifically analyzes the nature of the curriculum,the coherence of curriculum concepts,the relevance of curriculum content requirements,and the comparison of evaluation requirements.Starting from the nature of the curriculum,the paper analyzes the coordination of curriculum concepts,the relevance of curriculum content requirements,and the comparison of evaluation requirements.Furthermore,it examines the connection between the "Science" textbook in the Su Jiao edition and the "Biology" textbook in the People’s Education Press edition and explores the issue of textbook connection through practical examples.The research finds that there is a strong overall correlation between the two subjects,with most content being extensions and supplements,with only a small portion being repeated reinforcement.However,by analyzing the curriculum standards and textbooks,it is discovered that there are missing connections between them,providing a starting point for further research on curriculum connections.By focusing on the content of the textbooks and aligning them with curriculum standards,the paper analyzes the feasibility of linking primary school science with junior high school biology through a teaching example of "Human Respiration."Based on the above research,this study conducted questionnaire surveys on primary school science teachers,junior high school biology teachers,and junior high school students to gain in-depth understanding of the current situation of teaching connections between primary and secondary school biology.The paper conducted surveys on teachers’ basic information,implementation of curriculum standards,understanding of textbooks,implementation of connections,and students’ attitudes towards science curriculum and connection education.The surveys were conducted among teachers and students in 10 primary schools and 10 junior high schools in Yingze District,Taiyuan City.The research found that there are still some issues in the connection between primary school life science and junior high school biology teaching:firstly,teachers involved in science education have relatively low teaching experience and professional expertise compared to junior high school biology teachers.Secondly,teachers have a low level of attention to the appropriateness of content,indirectly affecting the implementation of connections.The survey of junior high school students showed that the majority of students are interested in the life science curriculum and have a great interest in exploring life science since primary school.Students are generally satisfied with the design and arrangement of the life science curriculum,but they have mixed feelings about the difficulty of learning life science.82% of junior high school students believe that life science is closely related to junior high school biology,but a large number of students believe that the adaptability of the connection can be further improved.Therefore,the paper concludes that teachers’ qualifications,understanding of curriculum standards,application of textbooks,and implementation of connections have a significant impact on the connection between science(life science field)and biology,and students’ attitudes towards the connection of science curriculum and content are important feedback for connection education.Based on the comparison of curriculum standards,textbook analysis,and questionnaire survey results,the paper proposes the following strategies: in terms of implementing curriculum requirements,promote progressive teaching,strengthen practical application,facilitate knowledge expansion and deepening,and comprehensively refine assessment methods and evaluation systems;in terms of textbook utilization,encourage teachers to fully understand the textbooks,extend and design concepts,and diversify teaching resources;in terms of connection implementation,deepen teachers’ understanding of curriculum standards,research and practice projects,strengthen teacher training and professional development,promote collaboration among teachers across different educational stages,and coordinate textbooks and resources. |
