A Study On The Influence Of Household Population Structure On Rural Family Education Expenditure

Education is an important cornerstone of national rejuvenation and social progress,and a moral project that can make a contribution in the present age and benefit in the future.Since the reform and opening-up,our economy has been developing at a high speed and the return on child discipline investment has been increasing day by day.Education has become an important means for individuals and families to achieve upward social mobility.Human capital investment has become an important component of rural household expenditure structure.At the macro level,the lack of human capital accumulation will become one of the constraints on economic development,and education is an important source of human capital,therefore,from the micro perspective,the family plays a crucial role in the decision-making of education expenditure.With the changes of family structure,the modern family structure is more flexible and diversified,and the role division among family members is more diversified,it also affects families’ decision to invest in their children’s education.How to optimize the allocation of limited family resources has become a continuous concern of each family.At the same time,in the new stage of building a powerful socialist country in an all-round way,promoting human capital through education has become one of the important strategies to solve the problems of farmers’ income instability and the backward rural economic development.In this sense,the study of the impact of family structure on education investment,for individual development,family well-being,social equity and other aspects of great significance.In response to this question,this thesis takes child discipline investment as the research object,summarizes the domestic and foreign literature on rural child discipline investment,adopts the data of the China General Social Survey(CGSS),combined with the latest population structure and family structure of our country,we use STATA14.0 statistical analysis software to carry out logistic regression,carry out empirical analysis,and finally according to the results of empirical analysis put forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions.The results show that:(1)the increase of the dependency ratio of the elderly in the family will inhibit the investment of the rural families in education;(2)the increase of the dependency ratio of the children in the family will promote the investment of the child discipline;(3)the increase of the family size will promote the investment of the rural child discipline;At the same time,this thesis innovatively introduces the variable of incomplete family to carry out empirical research,and analyzes the investment tendency of family decision-makers under the pressure of different family structures,so as to make a more comprehensive analysis of different types of families.
