At the beginning of the 20th century,the Ministry of Education issued the Outline of Curriculum Reform of Basic Education,which pointed out that the diversification of teaching materials should be realized and relevant institutions and publishing departments should be encouraged to compile teaching materials for primary and secondary schools in accordance with the national curriculum standards.So far,there are seven editions of high school math textbooks in use across the country.The fundamental inequality has been an important basic knowledge of high school mathematics since it was first compiled as a theorem in textbooks in 1964.The current seven editions of the textbook set the content of basic inequalities as preparatory knowledge for connecting middle and high schools in the first compulsory volume,with different arrangements and Settings.This paper takes the seventh edition of textbooks as the research object,adopts the literature research method,the comparative research method and the statistical analysis method to compare the contents related to the basic inequalities in the seven editions of textbooks,and analyzes the similarities and differences of their structural system,the introduction and presentation of concepts,the number and difficulty of exercises,the narration and the setting of mathematical culture.It is found that the general characteristics of the content arrangement of "basic inequality" in the seventh edition of the textbook are:(1)rigorous structure system,close links,rich columns;(2)Different concepts are introduced in different ways,and different proof methods and geometric interpretation are arranged;(3)The exercise is moderate in difficulty and contains comprehensive knowledge points;(4)Mathematical culture and narration are few but precise,which are an indispensable part of textbooks.Based on the differences and advantages and disadvantages in the compilation of basic inequalities in textbooks,the following suggestions are put forward for the compilation of textbooks:(1)pay attention to the integrity and pertinence of exercises and avoid the tactics of a sea of questions;(2)Integration of realistic content and mathematical culture,keeping up with the pace of The Times;(3)The contents should be presented in a variety of ways with certain elasticity;(4)Implement mathematical modeling activities and mathematical inquiry activities to promote the development of students’ core literacy.In addition,in the use of textbooks,front-line mathematics teachers should pay attention to the compilation of the seven editions of the textbook has its own characteristics.In the teaching process,they should properly screen the content of the textbook according to the teaching needs and students’ needs,select the appropriate content for teaching,and use the textbook flexibly.
