| Health is the soul of life,and people with weak bodies are often prone to suffering from diseases,while those with good physical and mental health can actively engage in life and work,leading to a more fulfilling life.A healthy life is an important dimension for Chinese students to develop their core competencies,and it is also one of the important contents of biology courses in the compulsory education stage.Therefore,helping students establish health awareness and social responsibility through biology teaching,strengthening their physical fitness and serving society,and comprehensively improving students’ health literacy are also important learning objectives of biology courses in the compulsory education stage.This study takes students from a middle school in D Banner as the survey subjects and distributes a survey questionnaire to conduct a health literacy survey on a total of 787 students from grade one to grade three in junior high school.Six biology teachers were also surveyed through interviews.The data obtained by analyzing the survey results of this study shows that the health literacy level of students in a certain middle school in D Banner is 5.84%,of which 11.44% have basic health knowledge level,19.44%have basic health behavior level,and 13.85% have basic health skills level.Research has shown that there are deficiencies in the three dimensions of health literacy among students in a certain middle school in D Banner.There are differences in students’ health literacy levels and correct answer rates between gender and grade.This study aims to improve the level of students’ health literacy,using second grade students from a middle school in D Banner as the research object.In junior high school biology teaching,health education is implemented through the use of cooperative learning teaching strategies,situational teaching strategies and exploratory teaching strategies.After the practice,the health literacy level of 104 students in the second grade of junior high school increased from 6.73% in the pretest to 54.81% in the post test,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.01).The level of health knowledge has increased from 12.50% to 70.19%,with a highly significant improvement.The level of health behavior has increased from 27.88% to40.38% compared to the pretest,and the level of health skills has also increased from 12.50% to 52.88% compared to the pretest.The differences are statistically significant(P<0.01).The conclusion of this study is that health education in middle school biology teaching can significantly improve students’ health literacy level,enabling them to master health knowledge and skills through teaching.Guide students to adopt correct healthy behaviors and develop healthy lifestyle habits.This study integrates the characteristics of living customs in pastoral areas and the relatively prominent local health issues,and combines the relevant content of the health literacy dimension to conduct a survey and analysis of students’ health literacy,filling the gap in such research data and related research on secondary school health education in the region.The research object was first surveyed on health literacy,and the research data has certain representativeness for similar surrounding areas,providing a reliable basis for future research. |
