Demolition And Renovation Of Old City Residential Areas From The Perspective Of Social Space Theory

This thesis uses Lefebvre’s social space theory to analyze the spatial production of F community in Datong City,Shanxi Province,so as to explore its production mechanism and production results,that is,the reconstruction of physical space and the production of social relations.With the acceleration of China’s urban renewal process,the social space theory can better explain China’s urbanization practice.Taking the ternary dialectics of Lefebvre’s spatial production theory as the basic framework,this thesis combs the spatial changes of community F,so as to reveal the relationship among power,capital and class behind spatial production.The study found that the production process of F community is dynamic rather than the result of a policy.Its production mechanism is the interaction between power,capital and class.Using ternary dialectics,we can clearly understand its production process: the representation of space,that is,the investment of planners,government and capital in the reconstruction project of the ancient city,acts on spatial practice and destroys the daily life of residents,Therefore,they unite to form a force that can resist the "representation of space",and through the re conception and planning of space practice,they form a "representational space",which is specifically reflected in the production of an alliance that goes beyond the original neighborhood relations.The alliance establishes community spirit and concerted action,reproduces space and undertakes the function of community governance,It also reshapes the social relationship network and social capital in community F,and promotes further exchanges and contacts among alliance members.This thesis analyzes the spatial production process of F community from the perspective of spatial production theory,in order to put forward a new perspective and new ideas for urban governance,and provide a case of Chinese localization for spatial production theory.In addition,this thesis also pays attention to the problem of "Space justice" under space production.The geographical and spatial injustice,the inequality of discourse power,the unfairness of the definition of space value and the sense of relative deprivation after space change in the process of space production are all the injustice problems after space change.These problems are related to the daily life and well-being interests of residents,and "Space justice" requires us to pay attention to this point.We need to further explore how to balance the spatial interests of various subjects and reasonably allocate spatial resources under the background of China’s urban development.
