Higher education is closely connected with economic development and social services,especially in foreign entrepreneurial universities.More and more universities begin to transform into entrepreneurial universities.From the 1980 s to the present,these entrepreneurial universities have gradually formed their own unique talent training mode.In this context,entrepreneurial universities in China have also started to be born slowly,but in essence,they are still different from foreign entrepreneurial universities and have not formed a perfect model in talent cultivation.At the same time,in order to adapt to the development of society,the talent cultivation model in China’s higher education is facing reform,and optimizing the talent cultivation model and structure is an urgent problem to be solved.The literature method,comparative method and case study are used to study the talent cultivation models of entrepreneurial universities in in the UK and Australia.Firstly,this paper reviews the emergence and development of entrepreneurial universities in the UK and Australia,explores the historical origin and development of entrepreneurial universities in the two countries,and then makes a brief analysis of the talent training mode of entrepreneurial universities in the two countries.Secondly,two entrepreneurial universities,the University of Leeds and the University of Adelaide,are selected as cases to analyze their talent training modes from five aspects: training objectives,curriculum system,teaching methods,faculty and management mechanism.Then,it makes a comparative analysis of the talent training modes of these two universities,and summarizes their common characteristics and differences.Finally,combining with the practice of the training of talents in China’s entrepreneurial universities,this paper puts forward some experiences to optimize and improve the training model of talents in China’s entrepreneurial universities.It is found that the common characteristics of the UK and Australian entrepreneurial universities are as follows: the spirit of entrepreneurship and change is integrated into the university’s strategic mission and talent training objectives;A well-structured curriculum system attaches importance to students’ practical experience in entrepreneurial activities;Adhere to the combination of teaching and entrepreneurial activities,attach importance to the cultivation of students’ ability;Provide superior external faculty;Coordinate the management mechanism of various personnel.Based on this,some suggestions are put forward to improve talents training model of entrepreneurial university: clear positioning of running school and reform the goal of talents training;Improve the curriculum system,create entrepreneurial culture atmosphere;Improving teaching methods and promoting the transformation of research results;Rich teacher resources,multi-directional support for entrepreneurial activities;Improving the management mechanism and optimizing the organizational system.
