In 2003,the Ministry of Education has issued an experimental draft of the curriculum plan and curriculum standards for ordinary high schools,and the evaluation of academic quality level has begun to focus on developing students’ core competencies as the testing and evaluation criteria.The "General High School Mathematics Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition,2020Revision)" points out that the quality of mathematics education is a comprehensive manifestation of the level of mathematical core literacy,and in mathematical core literacy,mathematical abstraction is extremely important.The second grade stage of high school is a key stage for cultivating students’ mathematical abstract literacy.However,in practical teaching,more emphasis is placed on the practical application of knowledge.Students lack the process of experiencing concept formation,and there are significant problems in the development of mathematical abstract literacy.This study takes some senior high school sophomore students from Tianjin Tanggu No.1Middle School,Ziyun Middle School and Jinghai No.6 Middle School as the research objects,and investigates their level of mathematical abstract literacy.The research questions are:(1)What is the current situation of mathematical abstract literacy of senior two students?(2)What are the differences in the level of mathematical abstract literacy of senior two students?This study uses the literature research method to understand the current research status,review the quality level of mathematics education and the policy background related to mathematical abstract literacy,learn relevant literature on the level framework research,current situation investigation research,and training strategy research of mathematical abstract literacy.After communicating with the supervisor,combined with the supervisor’s opinions,determine the research questions.Using literature research and interviews,based on the cognitive process level in Bloom’s taxonomy theory of educational objectives,combined with Professor Yu Ping’s evaluation indicators of key mathematical abstract abilities from the perspective of knowledge,the description of mathematical abstract literacy level in the academic quality of the new curriculum standard was analyzed and adapted,and the evaluation framework of mathematical abstract literacy was constructed,and the tutor experts were consulted and modified.Using interview and literature research methods,a survey tool was developed based on the evaluation framework and Piaget’s cognitive development theory.Based on the evaluation framework,test papers and questionnaires targeting mathematical abstract literacy of senior high school sophomore students were developed,and consultations and revisions were made with mentors and experts.After confirming that the reliability and validity of the test paper are good,a questionnaire survey method was used to test second year high school students from several schools in Tianjin as the research subjects.Using statistical analysis method,collect test papers and survey questionnaires,analyze the overall level of students using SPSS software based on the test results,and further analyze the development level of high school second year students in different sub dimensions through the statistical results.Based on the results of the questionnaire survey and combined with the analysis of the current level,this study analyzes whether there are differences in the current status of students’ mathematical abstraction level from two dimensions:gender and students’ cognition of their own performance level.Finally,interviews were conducted with some frontline mathematics teachers using the interview method.Based on the research findings,the causes of the problems were analyzed,and suggestions were proposed to cultivate the mathematical abstract literacy of senior high school sophomores.Finally,the relevant conclusions are drawn on the current situation of the mathematical abstract literacy level of the senior high school sophomore students in Tianjin who participated in the survey:(1)The overall level of students’ mathematical abstract literacy is average;(2)There are some problems in all dimensions of students’ mathematical abstract literacy level,but some students have higher level;(3)The level of students’ mathematical abstract literacy has certain differences in gender;(4)There is a significant correlation between students’ evaluation of their own achievement level and their abstract accomplishment level.Based on interviews with frontline teachers and the results of questionnaires and test papers,this study summarizes the following teaching suggestions:(1)For teacher interviews: Pay attention to concept teaching and strengthen abstract thinking;(2)Regarding the problems in the four sub dimensions: Create problem situations based on real life;Build knowledge system based on mathematics interior;(3)Regarding the differences between students: There are some significant differences in students’ cognition of their own performance levels.
