A Study On The Relationship Between Teacher-student Relationship, Mathematics Anxiety And Mathematics Academic Performance Among High School Student

Abstract/Summary:
The relationship between teachers and students is an interactive relationship between teachers and students in the school system.Mathematics anxiety is an emotional experience produced by students in the process of mathematics learning.The relationship between teacher and student and mathematics anxiety have a great impact on mathematics academic performance.This study uses questionnaire survey and interview to explore the relationship between high school students and its relationship with mathematics academic performance.By improving the relationship between high school students,it alleviates mathematics anxiety and realizes the improvement of mathematics academic performance.The research questions are as follows:(1)what is the status quo of the teacher-student relationship and math anxiety of high school students?(2)What is the relationship between teachers and students of high school students,math anxiety and math academic performance?(3)Does the math anxiety of high school students play an intermediary role between the teacher-student relationship and the math academic performance?The study object was high school students from three high schools in Tianjin.The study sample was two classes from grade one,senior two and senior three,with 18 classes and 702 students.The study method was questionnaire survey.Using the Teacher-student Relationship Scale compiled by Qu Zhiyong et al.and the Mathematics Anxiety Scale of Primary and Middle School Students compiled by Wu Minglong et al.,the relationship between high school students,mathematics anxiety and mathematics academic performance was investigated.At the same time,12 students from high,middle and low levels,12 high school math teachers and 12 high school parents in the survey school were selected for the interview outline.The purpose was to further understand the relationship between teachers and students of high school students and the anxiety among them and put forward countermeasures and suggestions.The study conclusions are summarized as follows:1.Conclusion of the relationship between teacher and student of students and math anxiety among high school studentsOn the whole,high school students have a good relationship with math teachers.For the three subdimensions,the supportive dimension scored higher,while the intimacy and satisfaction dimensions scored lower.And different grades,different urban and rural areas,whether the class committee has significantly different dimensions of the teacher-student relationship.The scores of grade three students in all dimensions were significantly lower than those of grade one and grade two in all dimensions,the scores of students in rural grade were significantly lower than those of students in urban and towns,and the scores of non-class committee students were significantly lower than those of class committee students in all dimensions.On the whole,the anxiety scores of high school students are at the middle and upper level.In the four sub-dimensions,the anxiety scores of high school students are relatively high,indicating that students have great anxiety in math class.Moreover,different genders and different urban and rural students have significant differences in all dimensions of mathematics anxiety.Girls scored significantly higher than boys in all dimensions,and rural students scored significantly higher than students in urban and township areas.2.Conclusion of the relationship between teachers and students,math anxiety and math academic performance among high school studentsBased on predictive analysis: high school students teacher-student relationship of high school students and its sub-dimension positive effect mathematics academic performance,high school students mathematics anxiety and its sub-dimension negative effect mathematics academic performance,high school students mathematics anxiety and teacher-student relationship and its sub-dimensions show negative effects.Based on interaction influence: the relationship between teacher and student of high school students and mathematics anxiety interact with mathematics academic performance,and mathematics anxiety plays a greater role in mathematics academic performance.3.Conclusion on the path of the influence of teacher-student relationship between high school students on mathematics academic performanceMathematics anxiety plays a partial mediating role in the teacher-student relationship between high school students and mathematics academic performance.According to the research results,we get the following enlightenment: on the basis of paying attention to the student group differences and individual differences,strengthen the communication and communication with students,close the relationship between them,build a harmonious and close relationship between teachers and students,constantly improve their professional quality,give students more support and respect,be students ’friends and friends;pay attention to the students’ mental health problems,early prevention and intervention,timely guidance and education,strengthen the contact between home and school to form a common education force.
