Based on the urgent need for youth ideological and political education in the new era,the construction of curriculum ideological and political education has become an important direction of current ideological and political education.However,how to do a good job in the ideological and political construction of high school geography curriculum is still a major problem facing geography educators.The issue-based teaching method emphasizes the student-centred approach and stresses the positive guidance of students in terms of values while teaching subject knowledge.Its characteristics are in line with the educational concept of geography and are in line with the ideological and political training of the curriculum.Therefore,this study focuses on the issue-based teaching,and studies how to use the issue-based teaching to realize the advantages of geography in carrying out curriculum ideological and political education.This study mainly adopts the literature research method,questionnaire survey method and case study method.By sorting out the literature related to "issue-based teaching" and "curriculum politics",summarizing the current situation at home and abroad,and forming a theoretical framework;From the theoretical level,this paper analyzes the realistic basis of using issue-based teaching to carry out ideological and political education in high school geography curriculum;With the help of questionnaire survey,we can understand the current situation of applying topic-based teaching to carry out curriculum ideological and political education,and summarize the problems existing in the current implementation of topic-based teaching to carry out curriculum ideological and political education:(1)Teachers’ understanding of topic-based teaching needs to be deepened;(2)Students’ awareness of inquiry needs to be further improved;(3)Teaching hours are tight,and teachers are tired of screening appropriate geographical issues for teaching;(4)The specific path for teachers to use issue-based teaching to carry out curriculum ideological and political education is not yet clear;(5)The current geography classroom teaching evaluation method is single.Based on the above research,the effective application strategies of topic-based teaching in high school geography curriculum ideological and political education are constructed:(1)Strengthen the ability of teachers to use topic-based teaching methods;(2)Improve students’ ability to participate in topic exploration;(3)Select geographical issues with ideological and political value;(4)Enrich the teaching activities that present the topic situation;(5)Improve the corresponding teaching evaluation system.Finally,through the analysis of the content of the geography compulsory two,taking the two different topics of ’how to treat the phenomenon of migrant workers’ and ’reclamation’ as examples,the teaching case design and practical evaluation are carried out,and it is found that the topic-based teaching has a positive effect on promoting the formation of students’ professional knowledge and literacy.
