Physical Education is a critical medium for advancing people’s physical wellness and comprehensive development.Under the background of building sports powerful nation,the demand for sports talents is increasing,and the training quality of sports graduate students is also eye-catching.The training quality of graduate students majoring in Physical Education is also remarkable.Assessing the level of innovation ability of academic postgraduates in physical education can reflect the quality of sports talents to a certain extent.Most of the existing researches on innovation ability of academic postgraduates in physical education focus on the cultivation of innovation ability.Research on innovation ability evaluation is relatively scarce.It is very necessary to construct a scientific innovation ability evaluation system for academic postgraduates in physical education in combination with the characteristics of physical education.This paper aims to clarify the meaning of innovation ability,its constituent factors and influencing factors through relevant literature and materials at home and abroad,build an evaluation model of innovation ability of academic master students in in physical education,and investigate and analyze the level of innovation ability of some academic master students in in physical education.This paper takes the innovation ability of academic master students majoring in physical education as the research object.Firstly,through the methods of literature collation and analysis,relevant concept discrimination and other methods,and summarizes individual innovation ability as a comprehensive ability with innovative thinking as the core,learning ability as the basis,innovative personality as the guide,practical ability as the ladder,and innovative achievements as the final performance.By integrating existing theories,literature and consulting experts’ opinions,the three-level evaluation indexes of the innovation ability of academic postgraduates in physical education are determined.Secondly,this paper formulates a questionnaire to measure the innovation ability of academic postgraduates majoring in physical education based on theories related to innovation ability such as the comprehensive factor theory and self-determination theory,and selected a number of academic master students in sports majors and investigated their innovation ability level.Thirdly,this paper uses a validated factor analysis model to construct an evaluation model of the innovation ability of academic postgraduates majoring in physical education,determines the weights of the evaluation indexes at each level through the standardized factor load coefficient of the model,and weights the resulting scores of the innovation ability measurement of academic postgraduates in physical education to obtain the final results and conduct analysis.The results show that the academic master students of physical education major are weak in innovation practice ability and innovation achievement output,and the overall innovation ability needs to be strengthened.Students of different grades have significant differences in innovation achievements,and the score results from high to low are in order of third-year master,second-year master and first-year master.Considering the various dimensions of innovation ability comprehensively,the formulation of targeted course content is expected to promote the balanced development of various abilities of academic master students in physical education majors along with the years of education,so as to improve their overall innovation ability.
