With the continuous development of football and the change of tactical concepts, the position responsibilities of goalkeepers have added more new content. However,at present, the data and indicators about goalkeepers are still relatively scarce, and they are still concentrated on the simple statistics of the number of saves, the success rate of saves, and the number of passes and the success rate. The research methods and ideas for goalkeepers are relatively simple, and it is difficult to accurately explore the current development trend of goalkeepers. This paper takes the technical and tactical application of goalkeepers in the 125 matches of the European Football Champions League in 2021-2022 season as the research object, compares with some data of previous seasons, expands and comprehensively the indicators of goalkeepers’ offensive and defensive behaviors, and combines the spatial location of behaviors to make the data presentation more three-dimensional and situational. On the basis of video observation, mathematical statistical analysis and logical analysis, the role of the goalkeeper in the attack is analyzed in depth by using social network analysis;Combining with the rough set theory, this paper makes a quantitative study on the causes of goalkeepers’ losing goals. In this paper, the characteristics and development trend of the current goalie position are explored in depth. From the technical point of view, goalkeepers are more accurate in using modern defensive techniques such as leg blocking shooting, deflect and catch, and more flexible in using the moving technique, showing excellent basic skills and technical application ability. The appearance of defensive techniques such as K-block also made goalkeepers more successful in 1v1 situation. The overall coverage of the goal and the defensive angle around the body are the main basis for goalkeepers to choose appropriate blocking techniques in 1v1 defense. The blocking techniques of modern 1v1 defense have gradually replaced traditional techniques and become the mainstream of goalkeepers’ 1v1 defense techniques in modern football games. From the tactical point of view, goalkeepers play an important role in the team’s overall attack as a "bridge" and in mobilizing the direction of attack. The handling of goal-kick has changed greatly with the modification of the rules. In recent years, the percentage of goalkeepers in the total number of passes has increased. The proportion of passing the ball to the front court is far lower than that of the back court and midfield area.Goalkeepers tend to cooperate with the ground to attack forward, and they can still maintain calm in the face of Gegenpressing. They often use through pass to break the opponent’s defense line, acting as the "key player" of the starting team when facing high pressure. In sports games, they mainly use medium and short distance passing to establish contact with the middle and back court players.Goalkeepers show the characteristics of more short passes, less long passes, and more full use of field width in sports war passing. In terms of rushing out, today’s goalkeepers can more accurately predict the opponent’s through pass, and the scope of rushing out is wider.Aggressive positional selection helps goalkeepers expand their defensive range when defending corners. When unable to attack, goalkeepers quickly retreat to the vicinity of the goal line, extending the shooting distance, and winning more reaction time, often making world-class saves. To sum up,today’s goalkeepers are more comprehensive in terms of technology and tactics. They are better integrated into the team as a whole. They are not only the keeper of the goal, but also an important part of the team in organizing the attack.
