With the gradual improvement of China’s social welfare system,China’s social security system for orphaned and disabled children has become increasingly complete, and the socialization of orphaned and disabled children has become increasingly prominent.Compared with normal children, their social adaptation is weaker and the socialization process is lagging behind. For orphaned and disabled children with a high degree of recovery, although they have basic self-care skills, their needs for dealing with emotional problems and peer support cannot be met.Based on the author’s internship experience in Z City Children’s Welfare Institute, through semi-structured interviews and participatory observations,we deeply understand the current situation of peer support for orphaned and disabled children in welfare institutions, and it is found that the peer support of orphaned and disabled children has a certain degree of particularity compared with normal children. The specific manifestations are: orphaned and disabled children have self-centered loneliness and inferiority complex, insufficient peer support network construction, and poor emotional management ability. In this study, group work intervention was carried out for the lack of peer support in some children, and a series of intervention activities were carried out to improve children’s peer communication skills, hoping to consolidate the results of intervention, evaluate the satisfaction of the implementation process and service effectiveness, and use the drama framework to analyze the intervention process of group work from the three dimensions of script, stage and performer. It is found that group social work has a positive effect on the construction of peer support network for orphaned and disabled children in welfare homes, which can improve children’s peer communication skills and promote the long-term stable development of children’s peer relationships. It helps to improve children’s self-confidence,promote the improvement of emotional stability and emotional management ability of orphaned and disabled children. At the same time,it is found that through the in-depth analysis and discussion of the practice process of group activities from the perspective of sociological theory,it is helpful to understand the personal front desk performance of social workers and group members in the process of group activities, and it is helpful to analyze the reasons for the inconsistent performance presentation and false performance caused by the natural transformation of social workers from natural to passive state when self-presentation,so as to provide reference for promoting the development of social work theory.
