With the rapid development of economy and society,China is transforming from a sports power to a sports power, the national attention to the cause of sports is gradually rising,at the same time,in various competitions for our athletes to win glory has won the love of the social public, such as Quan Hongchan,Gu Ailing,Ma Long and other outstanding athletes,They promoted the development of sports in our country with their efforts. At present, the attention of the public is on the active athletes, few people pay attention to those who have retired athletes,as for whether they can successfully through the career transition, whether there are physical and psychological problems after retirement, these are few people to consider the social problems.Athletes will face all kinds of challenges during their role transition from "sports man" to "social man".Since work is the foundation of life,a stable job can bring stable income to retired athletes. Therefore, more attention should be paid to the employment anxiety of retired athletes during the career transition. This paper studies how narrative therapy can relieve the employment anxiety of retired athletes during the career transition and explores the possibility and feasibility of social work in this field.Through questionnaire research on this special group,it is found that the main causes of their anxiety are the mismatch between personal ability and social needs, strong self-esteem,reluctant to ask for help, high expectations from the family, pressure from the peer group, the lack of social support network, the government security policy is not perfect and other reasons.Taking the case of a retired athlete as an example,SAS anxiety self-rating scale was used to measure the patient’s current anxiety situation. With the help of the two germplasm research methods of interview and participant observation, social work was carried out in the case.We found that the patient had anxiety and social work was needed to intervene.Help meet the need to improve anxiety, the need for employment skills training, the need to improve the relationship with parents, the need to establish a sound social support system.Using the narrative therapy model and following the principles of "people are not problems" and "they are their own experts",the case is developed through five stages: building professional relationships, telling stories, externalizing problems, finding exceptions, and reshaping the story. In the process of intervention, under the guidance of the basic principles of "helping others to help themselves" and "client self-determination",social workers use skills such as listening, sincerity, encouragement and self-disclosure,as well as narrative therapy techniques such as externalization, deconstruction and rewriting to separate individuals from problems and help clients re-establish self-identity,relieve anxiety and cultivate self-confidence.Socialize.The innovation point of this paper is that it pays attention to the special difficult groups that few people pay attention to.While helping the retired athletes relieve their anxiety,it also focuses on improving the training of individual employment skills to help the clients out of difficulties. In addition, this paper combines narrative therapy and social work to solve the psychological problems of difficult groups, and promotes its indigenization in our country. However, this paper also has some shortcomings, mainly reflected in the author’s own lack of experience in the combination of narrative therapy and social work methods.
