| The Subjective Well Being(SWB)research emerged in the 1960 s.Its core connotation is individual’s subjective comprehensive evaluation of life quality and emotional experience in life.Through the review of existing literature,it is found that most studies on subjective well-being pay attention to the elderly, college students, women and other relatively vulnerable groups, and most of the factors affecting subjective well-being are concentrated in income, assets, social status, social relations, social trust and other aspects. However, there are relatively few researches on some more specific social hot issues, such as the "996" working system and the "public examination craze",which involve overtime labor, industrial differences and factors inside and outside the system. Therefore, this paper studies the influence of overtime labor and industry type on the subjective well-being of young workers by starting from the problem of overtime labor, industry differences and "public examination fever" that young workers pay more attention to,and pays special attention to the difference of this influence from the perspective of system segmentation. On the basis of existing studies, this paper adopts quantitative research method and uses the nationwide sample survey data of China Labor Dynamics Survey(CLDS)in 2016,which covers 21,086 individual samples of 14,226 households in 29 provinces and cities in China. After data screening,2,421 valid samples are retained. The stata16 data analysis software was used for data analysis. The ordered logistic regression model was used to study the effects of overtime labor and industry types on the subjective well-being of young workers under the background of system segmentation, and the group regression method was used to discuss the institutional differences. The results show that:First, there are institutional differences in the phenomenon of overtime labor.Young workers who are employed "outside the system" are more likely to suffer from overtime labor problems. There are also institutional differences in industry types.Young workers employed "within the system" are mostly in knowledge-intensive industries, while those employed "outside the system" are mostly in labor-intensive industries and capital-intensive industries. In addition, from the perspective of subjective well-being,the subjective well-being of young workers is above the medium level, among which, the group that does not work overtime, the group in knowledge-intensive industries, the group that is employed "within the system",the group that is married and the group that feels labor justice have relatively high levels of subjective well-being.Second,from the perspective of institutional factors, the subjective well-being level of young workers employed "within the system" is higher than that of "outside the system".From the aspect of overtime work, the phenomenon of overtime work has a significant negative impact on the subjective well-being of young workers. From the aspect of industry type, the industries that pay more attention to workers and the industries that are closer to intellectual labor have a positive effect on the subjective well-being of young workers. Thanks to the institutional protection mechanism, the influence of overtime labor phenomenon and industry type difference on the subjective well-being of young workers employed "within the system" is weakened. For young workers, factors such as overtime work and industry type can affect their subjective well-being.Institutional segmentation further deepens this influence and produces significant differences within and outside the system. Therefore, institutional factors are important factors that cannot be ignored in the study of subjective well-being.At last, this paper puts forward some suggestions on how to improve the subjective well-being of young workers from the aspects of fairness, legal system, market reform and social security. |
