Abstract/Summary:
Objective:Through the analysis of physical activity level, sedentary behavior and mental health status of college students,to describe the characteristics of physical activity and sedentary behavior of college students of different major types,to explore the interaction relationship between sedentary behavior, physical activity and mental health status,to provide theoretical basis for changing the behavior style of college students and promoting mental health. Methods:The subjects were 105 college students majoring in sports and non-sports in Nanjing University of Physical Education. Two kinds of triaxial accelerometers, activ PAL3TMand Acti Gragh GT3X-BT,were used to measure the physical activity level and sedentary behavior of the subjects for seven consecutive days.In Body 370 and national physical health monitor were used to measure the basic information of the subjects,SCL-90 was used to test the mental health status, and the differences in sedentary behavior, physical activity and mental health status of college students of different majors and genders were described, and the correlation between sedentary behavior, physical activity and mental health status was discussed. Results:The invisible obesity rate of female students and non-sports majors was high, there was no significant difference in BMI between male and female students of different majors, but there were significant differences in lean body weight and body fat percentage between male and female students of sports majors and other groups(P<0.01).There were significant differences in physical activity above moderate intensity between male and female students of different majors. The MVPA of physical education majors on school days was significantly higher than that on weekends. No significant difference was found in sedentary behavior and mental health status of college students of different majors and genders, and sedentary phenomenon was widespread among college students.Physical activity with moderate or above intensity was positively correlated with mental health status.Conclusions:Non-sports majors have a high rate of overweight and obesity, and sports majors have a lower percentage of body fat,a higher lean body mass and a higher level of above medium physical activity. The overall sedentary time of college students is relatively long. The average daily sedentary time of college students of different majors and genders is more than 8 hours, and the continuous sedentary time is concentrated within 30 minutes.Physical activity above moderate intensity is positively correlated with mental health status of college students.
