The CPFS structure is an excellent cognitive structure unique to mathematics learning,which consists of a conceptual domain,a conceptual family,a propositional domain and a propositional family.The CPFS structure can help students to better internalise their knowledge of functions and better understand function concepts.Therefore,this study selects the chapter on quadratic functions as an example to improve students’ understanding of functions by optimising the CPFS structure of quadratic functions for junior secondary school students.In this study,a questionnaire survey of junior secondary school students and interviews with six front-line teachers were conducted to investigate and analyse the problems in the cognitive structure of functions among junior secondary school students and the problems that teachers encounter in teaching.Design.The experimental class was taught with the above design,while the control class was taught with the traditional teaching of functions.Finally,a pre-test and post-test were conducted to verify whether the teaching strategy based on CPFS could help optimise students’ level of quadratic function CPFS structure.Through the above study and summarising the current situation of function learning among junior high school students,the following problems exist: not paying attention to teaching variations,teaching knowledge in a fragmented manner,and giving little regard to the choice of exercises,which are not conducive to the formation of students’ CPFS structure;secondly,in response to the problems identified,teaching strategies are proposed to optimise students’ CPFS structure in the function classroom: creating different contexts to help students form conceptual and propositional domains;conducting Finally,a comparison experiment was conducted to conclude that the teaching of quadratic functions using the above teaching strategies is more conducive to improving students’ CPFS structure of quadratic functions than the teaching of quadratic functions in general...
