GPFS structure,a cognitive structure that is specific to mathematics,will be of great help to students in mathematics learning when built well.Growth theory,which was first proposed by Dewey,has been researched widely.But it is rarely combined with CPFS structure.So this study combines CPFS structure with Growth theory to design concept teaching of quadratic functions based on Growth strategy.Also,it tests the middle school students' improvement of CPFS structure of functions concept by using Growth strategyUsing the literature,questionnaire and experimental method,this study mainly draws conclusions as follows:1.Before learning the concept of quadratic function,most of the students' CPFS structures of function concepts have achieved to “good” level or even better.But they may lack of cognition of its essence,as well as the link among knowledge points of algebra.With Growth strategy integrated into teaching,students will get further understanding of the function's concepts and realize its link with other algebraic knowledge clearly.2.Teaching design are made of four steps of Growth strategies.Seize the students' growing point;Use the pedagogy of variation in many forms,lead the students to reflect and help them analyze the CPFS structure.On the basis of Growth strategy,students' CPFS structure of function concepts will be better improved than normal teaching design.3.According to the experimental results,this study get the frame of teaching design that is based on Growth strategy: Pay attention to the Growing point,firm them and forming question chains in growth link;Help students to consolidate new knowledge through conceptual variation and procedural variation in variation link;Afford students time to review the new knowledge in refletion link;Establish a clear and stable CPFS structure by using general formula in structure part.According to the conclusion above,four suggestions are proposed: 1.focus on the Growing point of concept learning;2.Seize the nature of concepts;3.Pay attention to the analysis of CPFS structure;4.Apply teaching theories consciously.
