Mathematical modeling refers to an ideological method that abstracts practical problems into mathematical problems,builds mathematical models using mathematical language,and finally solves practical problems by solving mathematical models.The cultivation of mathematical modeling literacy helps to promote personal practical ability,innovation ability,and problem-solving ability.Currently,the country’s demand for innovative and practical talents is increasing,and cultivating students with mathematical modeling literacy in mathematics education to obtain the required talents is one of the important ways.To understand the cultivation of students’ mathematical modeling literacy in current mathematics education and the problems existing in the teaching process of mathematical modeling,improve corresponding teaching strategies,and design mathematical modeling teaching.It is hoped that this can help promote the cultivation of students’ mathematical modeling literacy.The content of the thesis consists of seven chapters.The first chapter is an introduction,which mainly discusses the research background,purpose and significance,research methods,research route,and framework of this study.The second chapter is a literature review,mainly summarizing some research results on mathematical core literacy,mathematical modeling literacy,mathematical modeling literacy and mathematical application,mathematical modeling and mathematical application teaching in the existing literature,and combing and analyzing the existing research results.The third chapter is an analysis of the investigation process and results of the cultivation of mathematical modeling literacy among senior high school students.By compiling mathematical modeling test papers related to the application of functions,students are selected for testing,and their current level of mathematical modeling ability is analyzed;Then,a mathematical modeling questionnaire for students and teachers is prepared from three perspectives,and the problems in mathematical modeling teaching are analyzed based on the survey results.The fourth chapter mainly summarizes the factors that affect the cultivation of mathematical modeling literacy of high school students based on the survey results in the third chapter and the author’s own teaching experience.Chapter 5 mainly proposes targeted teaching improvement strategies based on the influencing factors analyzed in Chapter 4.Chapter 6 takes the strategy of Chapter 5 into consideration and takes the application of functions(1)as an example to design strategies for teaching.Chapter 7 is a summary and reflection of this study.The results of this study found that the overall level of mathematical modeling ability of high school students is low.There are mainly three factors that affect students,teachers,and others.The main performance of students is:students’ lack of understanding of mathematical modeling leads to their lack of interest in mathematical modeling and neglect the learning of mathematical modeling.Students’ weak problem understanding ability and poor mastery of basic mathematical knowledge lead to difficulties in the modeling process and solving models.The main performance of teachers is that their understanding of mathematical modeling is relatively superficial,they do not attach importance to the teaching of mathematical modeling in teaching,and they lack relevant teaching experience and methods in mathematical modeling teaching.Other aspects are mainly manifested as follows:it is difficult to investigate mathematical modeling in the college entrance examination,and ignoring the investigation of mathematical modeling leads to the lack of attention paid to mathematical modeling teaching in teaching.Currently,mathematical teaching focuses on the mastery and practice of a large amount of mathematical knowledge,and the large amount of class hours required for mathematical modeling teaching are not suitable for the rhythm of mathematical teaching.In view of the above influencing factors,the author proposes several strategies to improve the cultivation of mathematical modeling literacy of high school students.One is to enhance the importance of cultivating mathematical modeling literacy,including improving teachers’ understanding of mathematical modeling and the importance of teaching,enhancing students’ interest in mathematical modeling learning,and emphasizing mathematical modeling learning.The second is to strengthen the improvement of abilities,including the improvement of students’ problem understanding ability,the improvement of basic knowledge application ability,and the improvement of teachers’ mathematical modeling teaching ability.Emphasis should be placed on the accumulation of mathematical modeling teaching methods,and teachers should fully utilize existing teaching methods to infiltrate mathematical modeling teaching.Third,gradually improve the examination of mathematical modeling in the college entrance examination,and change the mathematical teaching mode,which only focuses on the accumulation of a large amount of mathematical knowledge.Finally,based on the problems found in the research and the proposed improvement strategies,this study conducted an instructional design for the teaching of the application of existing functions(Ⅰ).In the instructional design,the characteristics of only focusing on the application of mathematical knowledge in the past were changed,and more attention was paid to the ideological process of solving problems,in which the teaching of mathematical modeling was permeated.
