The Relationship Of Peer Attachment、Fear Of Negative Evaluation And Rejection Sensitivity In Secondary Vocational Students: A Longitudinal Study

Rejection sensitivity is a unique risk factor for internalizing and externalizing symptoms increase during adolescence,which can cause adolescents to worry and distress about social relationships and impact negatively on physical and mental health.There are many factors that contribute to the formation of rejection sensitivity.For secondary vocational students,they have more time to spend with peers and suffer more negative evaluation.However,the research on the influence of peer attachment and fear of negative evaluation on rejection sensitivity have been not directly explored.The Experiences in Close RelationshipsRelationship Structures,Brief Fear of Negative Evaluation Scale and Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire were used to conduct the cross sectional(Study 1)and longitudinal study(Study 2)on secondary vocational students.437 effective data was obtained in study 1,387 effective data was obtained through three longitudinal tracking in study 2,with each interval of three months.Study 1 focused on the mediating role of fear of negative evaluation between peer attachment and rejection sensitivity.Study 2 further explored the longitudinal changes of the three variables,and analyzed the causal relationship among them through crosslag models.The results mainly showed that:(1)In the cross-sectional study,there were significantly and positively correlated between peer attachment avoidance,peer attachment anxiety,fear of negative evaluation and rejection sensitivity;fear of negative evaluation played a partial mediating role between peer attachment avoidance and rejection sensitivity,as well as peer attachment anxiety and rejection sensitivity.(2)In the longitudinal study,there was a significant positive correlation between peer attachment avoidance,peer attachment anxiety,fear of negative evaluation and rejection sensitivity at three time points.(3)In the longitudinal study,the scores of peer attachment avoidance showed a gradual decline trend,peer attachment anxiety had a downward and then upward trend,and fear of negative evaluation and rejection sensitivity developed steadily.(4)Early peer attachment anxiety can significantly and positively predict fear of negative evaluation in the medium term,and fear of negative evaluation in the medium term can significantly and positively predict rejection sensitivity in the later period;Fear of negative evaluation and rejection sensitivity had interaction effect at three time points.
