In July 2021,the General Office of the State Council issued the Opinions on Further Reducing the Burden of Homework and Off-campus Training for Students in the Compulsory Education Stage(hereinafter referred to as the "double reduction"),and all parts of the country have stopped subject-based training activities and required that the holiday time should not be used for subject-based training in the future.The landing of the "double reduction" policy shows that students will be freed from the busy study burden and have more free time.In this context,after-school sports activities are necessary as a supplementary means of daily exercise.Taking the impact of the "double reduction" policy on the after-school sports activities of junior high school students in Guiyang as the research object,and some students and teachers of 20 junior high schools as the survey objects,this paper uses literature,questionnaire surveys,field surveys,interviews and other research methods to conduct an in-depth analysis of the changes of junior high school students in Guiyang who participated in after-school sports activities before and after the implementation of the "double reduction" policy,and puts forward corresponding countermeasures based on the favorable factors and existing problems of after-school sports activities,aiming to improve the physical health of junior high school students in Guiyang.The conclusions of the study are as follows:1.Before the implementation of the "double reduction" policy,the rates of after-school sports activities such as morning exercises and class physical exercise were low;the number of participants and the number of after-school sports competitions and after-school sports training were also low,and the contents were traditional and homogeneous.2.The implementation of the "double reduction" policy has had a certain impact on the participation of junior high school students in after-school sports activities such as morning exercises,recesses,class physical exercises and after-school sports competitions in Guiyang,but the overall impact is small,and the changes in the number of participants,frequency,content and length of exercises are not significant.However,after the implementation of the "double reduction" policy,the number of junior high school students participating in after-school sports training in Guiyang City has increased significantly.3.After the implementation of the "double reduction" policy,the number of junior high school students participating in after-school sports activities outside of school in Guiyang City has increased significantly in terms of number,frequency and time.The number of sports training has increased exponentially.4.Before and after the implementation of the "double reduction" policy,the content of after-school sports activities in junior high schools in Guiyang city showed strong utilitarianism,especially in the large classroom and after-school sports training set most of the content for the secondary school physical education exams,the main choices for students to exercise in and out of school are basketball,football,volleyball and traditional exercise programs such as running and rope skipping.5.Under the implementation of the "double reduction" policy,the shortage of venues is still an important factor affecting junior high school students’ participation in after-school sports.The venues for after-school sports are mainly residential areas and park squares,but the number of people using this area for exercise is high.6.The motivation of junior high school students in Guiyang city to participate in after-school sports activities is relatively reasonable,but there are also some students whose motivation for exercise is to cope with the physical education mid-term examination and fail to establish a correct view of physical exercise.7.The implementation of the "double reduction" policy has increased the time for students’ physical exercise,contributed to the reform of physical education content,helped the development of after-school physical education activities,and guided students to establish a good exercise concept.8.Strengthen the awareness of leadership,increase the degree of leadership attention,complete and strengthen the physical education teachers,improve the quality of the classroom,establish and improve the venue equipment,improve the supporting sports facilities,carry out diversified after-school sports activities,improve students’ interest in exercise,cultivate students’ awareness of physical exercise,form the concept of lifelong physical education,break the shackles of exam-oriented education,and effectively improve students’ physical fitness.
