In today’s rapidly developing information technology,people pay more and more attention to computational thinking,which is a thinking ability that everyone should have and which has an important impact on the development of individuals.The cultivation of computational thinking ability has been widely valued in China’s pedagogical community,and a lot of practical research has been carried out in educational institutions at all levels.At present,people have done some exploration on how to cultivate students’ computational thinking in both basic education,vocational education and higher education,but at present,scholars have less research on cultivating students’ computational thinking in secondary vocational education.In order to enrich the research on computational thinking in secondary vocational education,this study carries out a practical research on the project teaching method oriented to the cultivation of computational thinking in the secondary vocational course "Network Generic Cabling".The current emphasis on secondary vocational education in China,the background of selecting computational thinking as the core literacy and cultivating talents by project teaching method are explained,the research significance of this topic is illustrated from both theoretical and practical aspects,and the current situation of research,research methods and ideas are systematically analyzed.The concept about computational thinking,the theoretical basis of project teaching method are mainly introduced.Secondly,the basic situation of secondary school students is understood through questionnaire survey,and the basis of the model construction is elaborated from the perspectives of the needs of computational thinking cultivation,the characteristics of computational thinking,and the possibility of project teaching method for computational thinking cultivation.The project teaching model for the cultivation of computational thinking was summarized,and a corresponding teaching model was formed and applied to the teaching of "Network Generic Cabling" in a secondary school through case teaching,including pre-test analysis with questionnaires and teaching process design,etc.Pre-study work was carried out.The scale situation of students’ computational thinking in the experimental and control classes was analyzed in a focused manner,and the item evaluation forms as well as students’ interview results were collected and summarized.The changes in students’ computational thinking ability and the changes in their understanding of computational thinking in the experimental and control classes before and after the experiment were summarized,and the problems in the study were critically analyzed to facilitate further research in the future.The results of the study show that the project teaching method for the cultivation of computational thinking of secondary school students helps to improve students’ learning effect,significantly improves the level of computational thinking of secondary school students,and students are more satisfied with the teaching mode.It is hoped that this study can provide a reference for the research on the cultivation of computational thinking of secondary school students.
