The proposal of Geography Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Higher Education(2022 edition)aims to promote students’ basic knowledge and cultivate their core literacy in geography.As one of the four core qualities,regional cognitive ability plays a connecting role in the formation of geographical core qualities.Therefore,to grasp regional cognitive ability and explore its training strategies has become a new problem to be solved by front-line teachers.In the process of junior middle school geography teaching,theme-based question teaching can effectively improve students’ geographical region cognition ability and cultivate the core quality of geography discipline.Based on this,the study of regional geography theme-based question teaching is conducive to the cultivation of regional cognitive ability of junior middle school students,and can further deepen and improve geography teaching methods.Firstly,relevant literature was collected and analyzed to understand the current research status of theme-based question teaching and regional cognitive ability at home and abroad,and further discussion was conducted based on relevant theoretical basis.Secondly,questionnaire survey is used to design different questionnaires for teachers and students.The eighth grade teachers and students of Hancheng Middle School in Tangshan City,Hebei Province are selected to analyze the teaching status of theme-based question based on regional cognitive ability cultivation of junior middle school students.Through data analysis,it is found that there are problems in regional geography class in junior middle school.In class preparation,teachers do not select geographical materials carefully enough,and there are few effective question chains in class,which makes it difficult for students to understand systematically.In topic teaching,understanding difficulties occur,and problem expression in class lacks precision.Students are unable to understand the problem from a detailed perspective.In the teaching process,there is a lack of effective teaching methods,and students have low transfer ability when thinking expansion.Finally,aiming at the problems existing in the questionnaire,this paper puts forward the teaching strategies of thematic questions in junior middle school geography.This paper selects relevant materials suitable for regional geography teaching,designs questions related to regional geography teaching,explores effective learning methods of thematic questions,and analyzes the thematic problems of regional cognition.Thirdly,focus on regional cognition to analyze thematic problems.After the basic introduction of the experiment,Shaanxi Province and Japan are selected to display typical experimental cases.The research results show that selecting accurate thematic questions and guiding students to establish correct learning methods can not only help students to achieve good performance in geography class,cultivate students’ regional cognition ability,stimulate their learning enthusiasm,but also enable them to acquire in-depth knowledge in five topics,thus cultivating their ability of independent thinking and problem analysis.Help students to establish the concept of geographic space and cultivate regional cognitive ability. |
