In recent years,with the rapid development of the tourism industry,the demand for high-quality skilled talents in the tourism industry is increasingly strong.Vocational education,as the basic education of training skilled talents,shoulders a greater mission in the aspect of educating students,and is increasingly valued by the country.Since 2019,the Ministry of Education has issued a series of implementation plans and policies on the reform of vocational education,which put forward new requirements for the development of vocational education.It can be seen from the document that in the process of carrying out vocational education,in order to better integrate with the employment market,corresponding reforms should be carried out in accordance with the market requirements in the teaching process.For example,to promote the pilot work of "1+X" certificate system and the reform task of "three education",that is,to reform teachers,teaching materials and teaching methods.Based on the relevant background of vocational education reform,this study takes Front Office Service and Management,a compulsory course for secondary vocational education majors,and applies project-based teaching method in an extended way.Teaching is carried out with specific projects in actual work scenarios,so as to better cultivate students’ quality,skills and problem-solving ability,and innovatively applies hotel industry mentors to participate in teaching design and evaluation process.Guided by the vocational development of secondary vocational students,students are guided to learn professional skills and comprehensive qualities from the professional perspective of the hotel industry.Project teaching method is based on project teaching,in which students are the subjects in the learning process.In the form of group cooperative learning,students can not only learn basic professional knowledge,but also cultivate their comprehensive abilities in analyzing,solving problems,teamwork,communication and other aspects.In this study,X School of Guiyang City is selected as the case study,students majoring in tourism service and management from Grade 2020 and Grade2021 are selected as the research objects,and the "Front Office Service and Management" course of tourism service and management major of this school is taken as the entry point of teaching reform.Questionnaire survey,in-depth interview,statistical analysis and other research methods were used to investigate and understand the teaching status quo of "Front Office Service and Management" for 2020 students majoring in tourism service and management of this school.Through analyzing the survey data,the main problems existing in the teaching process and the causes of the problems were understood.The main problems are students’ low interest in learning,students’ incorrect learning attitude,students’ weak learning ability and cooperative communication ability,and students’ low evaluation of teachers’ teaching.Through in-depth interviews,it is found that the main reasons for these problems are the lack of teachers’ working experience,unreasonable teaching design,and insufficient connection between theory and practice in teaching,and the teaching effect is tested after the specific project is taught in the class of tourism service and management major of 2021.Through the comparison of the learning effect of students in the two grades and the feedback of students,Analyze the teaching effect of project teaching method applied in "Front Office Service Management" course;Finally,the experimental data are analyzed and sorted out,and the results show that compared with traditional teaching,project-based teaching method has certain advantages,especially in improving students’ learning interest,improving students’ creativity and initiative,cultivating students’ teamwork awareness and cooperative communication ability,linking theory with practice and solving problems independently,etc.Therefore,The application of project-based teaching method is helpful to improve students’ learning interests and abilities.It can be extended to other compulsory courses of tourism service and management major.However,some problems will occur in the implementation process,which puts forward higher requirements for teachers’ abilities.The results show that project-based teaching method can cultivate secondary vocational students into corresponding skilled talents,which is in line with the educational objectives and training requirements,and can be extended to other courses in secondary vocational schools. |
