Experiment is the soul of chemistry, but in the actual teaching, more verification experiments are carried out, ignoring the importance of laboratory problem solving, resulting in students ’solidified thinking, and chemical knowledge is only a simple memory and will not be applied to the real situation.Based on the above background, the following four aspects are studied in this study.(1)Current situation and obstacles of problem solving for senior high school students.(2)Construct the model of scientific inquiry.(3)Teaching design based on scientific inquiry model under the topic of electrochemical knowledge.(4)Influence of scientific inquiry mode on problem solving of electrochemical laboratory. This study uses literature research, test, investigation and teaching intervention and other methods to reach research conclusions. The current situation of high school students’ problem solving is that the electrochemical problem solving ability is poor, and the laboratory problem solving ability is at the medium level. In order to improve students’ problem-solving skills, the scientific inquiry model "inquiry ring" is constructed, which is problem-centered and includes nine links: observation and discovery, question raising, representation, literature review, hypothesis making, experimental verification, analysis and interpretation, communication and reflection, and cooperative innovation. With the application of "inquiry ring",the teaching design and teaching practice are carried out on the three experimental topics of "copper zinc galvanic cell","electrolysis and electroplating" and "Making simple fuel cell".Finally,it is found that the teaching intervention based on the scientific inquiry model significantly improves students’ electrochemical problem solving level and laboratory problem solving ability, and stimulates students’ interest in learning.
