Inquiry-teaching, as an instructional method, is not only the requiring of the national science literacy advancement of present stage, but also the effective way of endowing the students with the scientific methods to solve problems. This paper studies the problem on how to carry out the Inquiry-teaching in the ninth grade of middle schools.Three aspects' study is done in this paper as follow:Firstly, the theoretical principles of Inquiry-teaching are studied which should cultivate student's ability of chemistry problem solving in the ninth grade.Secondly, according to the characteristics of chemistry discipline and the present teaching situation, the specific instructing experiment of Inquiry-teaching is put into practice. How to help students resolve chemistry problems and improve the student's science literacy through inquiry are also studied from actual teaching case.Thirdly, the deficiencies and doubtful points of Inquiry-teaching are expatiated.
