| In collaborative problem solving learning,teachers play a key role in cultivating students’ active interaction and promoting group collaboration.However,in teaching practice,it is difficult for teachers to effectively monitor multiple groups in a limited time.Visual learning analysis tools become effective tools to assist teachers in parallel monitoring.However,the existing tools focus on presenting statistical results,ignoring how to promote teachers to interpret the meaning of data,resulting in poor application in promoting teaching decision-making.Visual learning analysis based on educational data storytelling uses interactive visual technology to provide educational insights and realize human-computer collaborative decision-making for complex learning problems.It provides a new design perspective for improving teachers’ understanding and attention to students’ key activities.The specific work of the paper includes the following three aspects:(1)Systematically sort out the relevant literature of visual learning analysis,information visualization and educational data storytelling,and build a visual learning analysis tool design framework based on the perspective of education data storytelling.(2)Based on the design framework,realize the content and function design of the visual learning analysis tool for collaborative problem solving,integrate the advanced discourse analysis theory and learning analysis technology to realize the automatic extraction and marking of key data features.The study used the real collaborative session data for testing,and realized the iterative optimization.Finally,based on the Web technology,the front-end and back-end frameworks such as Vue and Flask were integrated to complete the development,integration and deployment of the code.(3)The application effect of the tool in collaborative problem-solving activities was explored through the case study.Then,the tool design process is reviewed and summarized to provide experience and inspiration for the research of educational data storytelling and visual learning analysis tools.The results of the case study show that: in the aspect of teacher intervention,the tool supports teachers to quickly locate and discover students’ key activities by driving attention,and establishes a process monitoring and evaluation of students’ collaborative performance from the three granularity of individuals,groups and classes,so as to promote teachers to carry out intervention activities in cognitive,cognitive regulation,social and social regulation;in terms of teachers’ teaching,the tool strengthens teachers’ teaching planning,consolidation and reflection,and realizes the personalization of teachers’ monitoring and support process by integrating teachers’ knowledge and experience;in terms of promoting students’ collaborative performance,teacher activities supported by tools can effectively improve students’ collaborative problemsolving performance in cognitive aspects.This study applies the new design perspective of education data storytelling to the research of visual learning analysis tools,constructs a new visual learning analysis tool design framework,and focuses on the collaborative problem-solving learning situation to provide a complete tool design and application case.The study verifies the feasibility of the design framework and the application effect of the tool.It provides theoretical and practical reference for the classroom diagnosis and evaluation of collaborative problem-solving learning and the design and research of visual learning analysis tools. |
