Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 in December 2019,the concept of viral transmission related to personal good living habits has been deeply rooted in the public’s hearts,thus the management of personal health and the cultivation of good living habits are concerned and valued.Early childhood is a critical period to develop good habits,and seizing this stage to cultivate good living habits in young children can have a multiplier effect.As young preschoolers have a small age and weak resistance,cultivating good living habits can help establish a healthy defense line and promote physical and mental health development.The previous research on cultivating children’s living habits rarely covered all the contents of children’s living habits in kindergartens,and has rarely focused on younger preschoolers.The combination of practice and theory has been limited,and there has been almost no research on cultivating living habits in young children from the perspective of social cognitive theory.Therefore,this study will explore the cultivation of living habits in younger preschoolers from the perspective of social cognitive theory.A case study method was adopted in this study,and the younger preschoolers and their teachers were selected as the objects in the inclusive private kindergarten X in City H.The method of observation,interview,questionnaire and case analysis were adopted and the cultivation of younger preschoolers’ living habits were conducted in a deep study in the kindergarten based on social cognition theory.First of all,the cultivation of younger preschoolers’ living habits on goals,content,and environment were deeply understood.Secondly,through observation,interview and investigation,the status quo of younger preschoolers’ living habits cultivation and the strategies of teachers’ cultivation were deeply understood.Thirdly,the problems existing in the process of preschoolers’ living habits cultivation were analyzed and the reasons were summarized based on social cognitive theory.Through a three-month study of the kindergarten,135 questionnaires were distributed,116 valid questionnaires were collected,15 teachers of young preschoolers were interviewed,and the living habits of 135 younger preschoolers in 5natural classes were observed on a rotating basis.Based on the perspective of social cognitive theory,the results are as follows:(1)In terms of subject cognition,group teaching activities and transitional play activities can promote younger preschoolers’ formation of the concept of good living habits.(2)In terms of behavior,teachers using appropriate and diverse methods in different activities can promote the formation of younger preschoolers’ living habits,and guiding young children to learn through observation and self-regulation is an effective way of cultivation.(3)In terms of environment,teachers can convey the concept of good living habits through the environmental design,and by using traditional methods and modern multi-channel interactions with parents,they can create a good atmosphere for home,kindergarten,and collaborative education in the cultivation of younger preschoolers’ living habits.At the same time,there are issues in this kindergarten such as weak teacher awareness,deviation in teacher cultivation behavior,and insufficient development and utilization of educational resources.Based on this,the following suggestions were proposed: firstly,teachers should exchange more experiences and enhance their professional literacy and educational skills;secondly,they should make more use of the online platform to communicate more with parents to promote home-school collaboration;finally,they should focus on the actual kindergarten environment and use and realize the environment creation efficiently.
