| China’s social development during the 14 th Five-Year Plan is focused on "highquality development".The "Outline of the 14 th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development and the Long-Range Objectives Through the Year 2035" explicitly outlines the plan’s goal of constructing a high-quality educational system,enhancing the quality of higher education,and diversifying the higher education system.A new direction for the high-quality development of private universities has been pointed out in the new development pattern,with new positioning,goals,and requirements for higher education being put forward.Moreover,new coordinates have been clearly defined.In recent years,China’s private education has made great progress,and as of 2021,undergraduate students in private universities account for 34.17% of the total.There are3,012 universities in China,of which 764 are private universities,accounting for 28.16%,and private universities have become an integral part of domestic higher education.Exploring the background,significance,research methods,and research content of Dong Hai College of Science and Technology as the research subject,this article then delves into literature review and theoretical research to gain a reference and basis for existing academic achievements within the academic community.Next,based on the introduction of the development status of Donghai College of Science and Technology,the difficulties and problems encountered in the development process are found and put forward,and the causes behind the problems are analyzed.Finally,through relevant knowledge and theories of strategic management,the strategic environment in which Dong Hai College of Science and Technology is located is analyzed from external and internal perspectives.Through this research,it is found that the external environment in which Dong Hai College of Science and Technology is located has obvious regional advantages and characteristics,and the province where it is located has a huge demand for private universities.The development of private education is increasingly being given importance by both the country and local governments.From the school’s point of view,it has distinct benefits,such as autonomy,flexibility in both personnel and teaching,the capacity to stay up-to-date,and a conducive atmosphere for school-enterprise collaboration,thus augmenting the school’s practical progress.However,the school also faces challenges such as limited funding,unstable teams of teachers and counselors,and insufficient leading teachers among middle-aged and young backbone.These pose huge challenges to the school’s future development.Overall,the challenges facing Dong Hai College of Science and Technology are severe,and the school is in a critical transformation and rapid development stage,but the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.The school needs to continue to consolidate its advantages in professional settings,promote teaching and practice in advantageous majors,ensure its competitive advantage among public and private universities in the same region with similar score lines.Deepen the quality of school-enterprise cooperation,ensure the development on the road of innovation and application,increase students’ internship and employment opportunities,enhance market recognition,improve employment rate,and alleviate employment and enrollment pressures.Improve the efficiency of school affairs and feedback mechanism,control operating costs,expand its own advantages,and gain reserves for adaptation in future development,and cope with possible threats and challenges.Use SWOT analysis tools with structured and systematic characteristics to analyze and clarify the opportunities and challenges of Dong Hai College of Science and Technology.By using the structured and systematic SWOT analysis tool to analyze and clarify the opportunities and challenges facing Dong Hai College of Science and Technology,it was found that the opportunities outweigh the challenges.Therefore,the university should adopt multiple management strategies(ST strategy),deepen teaching and curriculum reforms,continuously improve teaching quality,develop new majors,moderately expand enrollment,and especially in provinces that have not recruited students in the past.Strengthening scientific research construction,deepening the union of industry,education,and research,and broadening the school-enterprise cooperation to augment its innovation capacity and sway should be the aim.The university should further improve the management system and optimize the organizational structure to promote the coordinated development of various aspects and achieve high-quality development. |
