In the study, the main subjects were the schoolteachers’ teaching self-efficacy and the leadership styles of the principals at selected high schools in Nyaung Oo Township,Myanmar. This study employed a mixed research design. This study involved 100 high school teachers from various levels. To assess leadership styles and schoolteachers’ teaching self-efficacy,researchers employed the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire(MLQ-5X)designed by Bass and Avolio in 1994 and the Ohio State Teacher Efficacy Scale(OSTES)developed by Tschannen-Moran and Woolfolk Hoy in 2001.Findings from the quantitative study indicate that in selected high schools, there is no connection between the leadership philosophies of the principals and teachers’ ranks of teaching self-efficacy.For the purpose of complementing the quantitative findings and understand how schoolteachers in high schools perceive their principal’s leadership style and their holding teaching virtue, qualitative research findings are also presented. It was suggested that principals learn how to use all the leadership strategies determined by the circumstances and how to mould and modify the positive connections with teachers for schoolchildren’s accomplishment and the school’s prosperity by drawing on the relevant publications and study analysis. The unearthing of this analysis may be used by the Myanmar Ministry of Education and other educationists, particularly those working in training academy,to enhance the election and coaching of school principals in order to optimize the influence of leadership style on schoolteachers’ teaching self-efficacy.
