For a long time, the clinical evaluation of the voice quality of patients with voice disorders has mainly been based on objective evaluation methods, supplemented by subjective evaluation methods. However, objective assessment tools have certain limitations in capturing some aperiodic components in the sound signal, and commonly used subjective assessment methods are more focused on the auditory perception judgment of voice experts, neither of which fully takes into account the patient’s own feelings. With the continuous development of humanistic thinking, foreign countries are paying more and more attention to the self-assessment of voice-impaired patients.A variety of voice-related subjective assessment scales have been compiled and developed to evaluate the vocalization of voice-impaired patients from multiple perspectives. Most of these assessment scales are patient-centered and focus on assessing patients’ feelings about their own voice conditions. With the mature development of foreign voice-related subjective assessment scales and their wide application in clinical assessment, relatively mature voice subjective assessment scales have been gradually introduced in China in recent years, and a series of localized clinical practice and Research. However, there has not been systematic research on the progress of cross-cultural adjustment of voice-related subjective assessment scales in China,so it is not clear the status and level of domestic progress in this field. Therefore,on the basis of a systematic review of the standardized process of cross-cultural adaptation of scales, this study will sort out the voice-related subjective assessment scales introduced in China in recent years, understand the current research status in this field in China, and based on the above research, select One of the scales has not yet been introduced for cross-cultural adaptation practice. In summary, this study consists of the following three parts:Study 1: Norms of Cross-Cultural Adaptation of the Voice-related Subjective Assessment ScaleStudy 1 mainly sorted out the standardized operation guidelines for the cross-cultural adjustment of the scale, and summarized the evaluation methods for the quality of the scale after cross-cultural adjustment. The key to the cross-cultural adjustment of scales is to ensure the equivalence between the target language scale and the original scale to the greatest extent. The equivalence is embodied in the five elements of semantics, concepts, content, technology and standards. The cross-cultural adjustment of the scale is mainly composed of five steps: translation,synthesis,back-translation,expert committee review, and pretesting. The standardized operation of each step is related to the quality of the final scale. The evaluation of the quality of the scale after cross-cultural adjustment can not only start from the completeness and standardization of the above five steps, but also need to comprehensively consider the reliability and validity of the introduced scale.Study 2: Current status of cross-cultural adaptation of voice-related subjective assessment scalesStudy 2 systematically sorted out the current situation of cross-cultural adjustment of domestic voice-related subjective assessment scales, and evaluated the current status of cross-cultural adjustment of domestic voice-related subjective assessment scales according to the cross-cultural adjustment guidelines in Study 1.The evaluation index consists of two parts: the cross-cultural adjustment process of the scale and the reliability and validity evaluation index. The research results show that:(1)there are 20 voice-related subjective evaluation scales that are widely used abroad, have high clinical value, and have reliability and validity.Among them,9scales have undergone corresponding cross-cultural adjustments in China;(2)The domestic cross-cultural adjustments of voice-related subjective assessment scales have achieved the expected results, but there are irregularities in the translation process and reliability and validity Incomplete testing methods and other issues.Study 3: The practice of cross-cultural adaptation of voice-related subjective assessment scaleIn Study 3,on the basis of Study 1 and Study 2,according to the scale cross-cultural adjustment guidelines, vocal fatigue index(VFI)was selected for cross-cultural adaptation. The study selected 150 patients with voice diseases who visited the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of Shenzhen University General Hospital from September 2021 to September 2022.The control group consisted of179 subjects with healthy vocal cords without any voice problems. All subjects were evaluated by the Chinese version of the VFI scale and the Hong Kong version of the VFI scale.Among them,81 subjects in the experimental group and 170 in the control group received the assessment of the Chinese version of the scale again at intervals of2 weeks. Finally, the Chinese version of the VFI scale was evaluated.validity test. The reliability and validity test results of the VFI scale show that the Cronbach’s αcoefficients of the experimental group and the control group on the total score of the Chinese version of the VFI scale are 0.945 and 0.917,respectively,and the Cronbach’s α coefficients of the scores of the three dimensions of the scale are 0.945 and 0.917 respectively. The α coefficients all exceeded 0.8,indicating that the internal consistency of the scale is good. The intragroup correlation coefficients of the experimental group and the control group were 0.784 and 0.776,respectively,indicating that the Chinese version of the VFI scale has good test-retest reliability. The factor contribution rates of the three principal components are(from high to low)33.979%,22.785% and 14.754%,respectively,and the cumulative contribution rate is71.518%,which shows that the structural validity of the scale is ideal. The Spearman rank correlation coefficients of the Chinese version of the VFI scale and the Hong Kong version of the VFI scale filled in the experimental group and the control group were 0.921 and 0.724(p<0.01),indicating that the scale has good criterion validity. The total score of the VFI scale of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group(p<0.01),indicating that the Chinese version of the VFI scale has good discriminant validity and can be used to evaluate the degree of vocal fatigue and symptoms of patients with voice disorders effective tool. The theoretical and practical significance of this study and its innovations lie in:(1)The standardized process and reliability and validity testing methods of the cross-cultural adjustment of the scale are systematically sorted out, providing reference and reference for the introduction of the scale in the future;(2)The current situation in China is sorted out The number, type and quality of the assessment scales that have been introduced, investigate and understand the current situation of cross-cultural adaptation of the domestic voice-related subjective assessment scales, and provide directions and suggestions for the subsequent introduction of voice subjective assessment scales;(3)Introduce the VFI scale,to enrich the domestic clinical voice subjective assessment scale.
