The advent of the era of artificial intelligence(AI)calls for the cultivation of AI literacy.It is necessary to pay attention to the cultivation of AI literacy of senior high school students because senior high school is a critical period when learners’ physiological and psychological development tends to mature and form higher-order thinking ability and sense of independent development.AI literacy assessment is an important tool to clarify the current situation of AI literacy development of senior high school students and promote the development of AI literacy teaching.However,most of the current research on AI literacy of senior high school students is focused on clarifying the connotation and exploring the teaching method,but less research is conducted on its assessment.Most of the studies related to the assessment of AI literacy have been oriented to citizens or specific occupational groups,and the assessment system of AI literacy for senior high school students has not been formed yet.In summary,this study focuses on the assessment of AI literacy among senior high school students,and carries out the preliminary construction,revision,and improvement of the AI literacy assessment index system for senior high school students and application verification on the basis of clarifying the connotation and framework of AI literacy among senior high school students.Based on the relevant research and the intelligent era of human-computer symbiosis,this study explores the key elements and basic components of the AI literacy framework for senior high school students,and on this basis,constructs,revises and improves the AI literacy assessment index system for senior high school students,forms the corresponding AI literacy assessment tools for senior high school students,and obtains application effects and suggestions.Focusing on the research objectives and the core question of " How to evaluate the AI literacy of senior high school students",this study focuses on three sub-questions:(1)What is the connotation of AI literacy of senior high school students?(2)How to construct an AI literacy assessment index system for senior high school students?(3)How to apply the AI literacy assessment index system for senior high school students to conduct assessment?In order to answer the above research questions,this study firstly compares the relevant literature,clarifies the connotation of AI literacy and the definition of AI literacy of senior high school students,and obtains the key elements of AI literacy based on the interaction analysis of "human-tool-society" in the human-machine symbiosis.The framework of AI literacy for senior high school students was constructed and a preliminary index system was formed.Then,the structure and connotation of the index items were revised and improved by two rounds of Delphi method,and the weight values of the indexes at all levels were determined using hierarchical analysis to form a complete AI literacy assessment index system for senior high school students and the corresponding assessment tools.Finally,this index system is applied to carry out the assessment practice of senior high school students’ AI literacy,and through the analysis of the data to understand the current situation of senior high school students’ AI literacy in the sample area,to verify the validity of the index system,and to propose suggestions for the cultivation of senior high school students’ AI literacy based on the data analysis results.The AI literacy assessment index system for senior high school students constructed in this study contains three primary indicators of AI knowledge,AI skills,and AI attitude;eight secondary indicators such as AI basic concepts,AI application development,and AI ethical knowledge,and 21 tertiary indicators such as AI definition,AI technical foundation,AI implementation methods and processes,and their operational definitions and weight values.Through application practice,it is found that the assessment tool formed according to this index system has good differentiation and reliability,and can reflect the AI literacy level of senior high school students.The index system and its corresponding assessment tools can be used for students’ self-assessment and teachers’ teaching diagnosis,and guide the development of AI literacy assessment practices at senior high school level.
