The process of historical development is irreversible,which determines that historical things must be understood through historical materials.With the continuous advancement of history teaching practice and the proposal of the core quality of history discipline,the application of historical materials in high school history teaching has attracted more and more attention.The academic circle has achieved more achievements in the teaching of historical materials,but less achievements in the development and utilization of historical materials resources.Among the numerous historical materials,the historical materials of modern newspapers and periodicals have the characteristics of openness and extensiveness,which is an important auxiliary resource in high school history teaching.In recent years,the academic circle has made good achievements in the study of historical materials of newspapers and periodicals.The value of historical materials of newspapers and periodicals in the study of modern Chinese history has been affirmed by scholars.As the newspaper with the longest circulation and the greatest influence in modern China,the SHUN PAO contains a large number of history teaching resources.However,due to its rich content and large quantity,it takes a lot of time and energy to collect and organize the historical materials in the SHUN PAO.As a result,front-line teachers rarely use the historical materials in the SHUN PAO to carry out history teaching.The SHUN PAO covers a wide range of contents,involving all aspects of modern Chinese society,and contains a large number of local and specialized historical materials,providing rich historical materials for the study of different fields of modern society.Similarly,the SHUN PAO also has a unique significance for the teaching of modern history in high school.The necessity of applying the SHUN PAO to the teaching of modern history in senior high schools is mainly determined by the characteristics of the history discipline itself and the relevant requirements in the latest edition of the History Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools.And its feasibility is mainly reflected in the teaching value of the SHUN PAO in enriching history classroom teaching resources,improving students’ learning interest and cultivating students’ core quality of history.At present,more and more attention has been paid to the collection and collation of historical materials.The SHUN PAO has a large number of contents,and it takes a lot of time and energy for first-line history teachers to read it.Integration is a necessary step to make it easier for history teachers to draw materials.The integration of the SHUN PAO should be carried out in accordance with the requirements of curriculum standards and the actual situation of students.The content that it can be used in the teaching of modern history in high school is mainly divided into column navigation and material integration.Other modern newspapers and periodicals in the same period as the SHUN PAO paid attention to the activity and continuity of events in their information records.They could show the universality of modern society in various aspects.For history teaching,they could play the role of"suture agent" of historical events and bring students into the historical scene conveniently.However,modern newspapers also have certain limitations.When selecting historical materials for newspapers and periodicals,high school history teachers should fully investigate the background of newspapers and periodicals,crossreference with other historical materials,and better play the value of modern newspapers and periodicals in teaching.
