At present,there is a great demand for applying narratology to the teaching of fiction in senior high school.Although the existing research results are quite abundant,there are still some problems: the theory is too profound and difficult to understand;The combined knowledge of narratology is extensive,complex and unfocused,which is beyond the students’ actual level and easily aggravates the students’ burden.Therefore,this kind of research needs to have other beneficial attempts.Few scholars and teachers pay attention to the narrative function of the props in novels,and the props in novels,as a part of novels,contain abundant reading information,which can assist the teaching of novels,it provides more possibilities and attempts for the application of narratology to the teaching of novels,and also provides powerful help for the reform and innovation of the current teaching mode of novels.This paper studies the application of props narrative function in the teaching of novels in senior high schools,in the part of introduction,the reason,the purpose and the significance of this thesis are briefly described,and then the research status,research ideas and innovations related to this thesis are discussed.After grasping the present research situation,this paper introduces the related knowledge of narratology,the core concepts of“Props”,“Novel props”and“Props narrative function”,and it combs the props in the high school novels edited by the ministry,and makes a careful study of the narrative function it undertakes.The study found that,the props in the high school novels have the narrative functions of “Shaping the characters,enriching the characters” “promoting the development of the plot controlling the narrative rhythm” “setting off the atmosphere of the environment,indicating the narrative time” “conveying the obscure information and marking the narrative theme”.By means of questionnaire and interview,this paper investigates the present situation of novel teaching in Senior High School,this paper puts forward some specific teaching strategies for the application of the props narrative function in the teaching of novels in senior high schools:“Constructing the props narrative topic,looking for the ’true’ feeling of novels” “Taking the props as the clue guidance,opening up a new path for the teaching of novels” “Reading the props ’subtext’,entering the author’s inner world” “Using the props as the writing means,promoting the combination of reading and writing”,and provides the corresponding teaching clips for reference,with a view to providing practical help for high school language teachers.The application of the narrative function of props can not only provide a new and beneficial attempt for the introduction of narratology theory into the teaching of novels,but also bring a more novel and reliable teaching path for the teaching of novels in senior high schools,to provide a new interpretation of ideas and teaching cut-in point,so as to improve the efficiency and quality of high school fiction teaching.To guide students to pay attention to the role of props in“Narration” can motivate students to study novels to a certain extent,exercise students’ thinking ability,and provide reference for students’ writing,improve students’ writing ability.
